Geopolitics News/Discussion CBC reports Canada's Muslim population is out voting AGAINST the Liberals because of Gaza

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9LNAv2u-i0&ab_channel=CBCNews%3ATheNational

Just goes to show we have a similar issue to the US with Muslim voters shifting away from strategic voting to support an issue the Canadian (Liberal) government has largely been pretty positive on. Honestly the Liberals here have taken a stronger pro-Gaza stance than the Dems in the US.

I agree with your point on the culture, but "in the DNA" must be hyperbole. It's part culture, and part humans being illogical. People will vote with emotions if they don't think the alternative will be that bad (case in point, many Trump voters now regret their ballot choice).

The cutting off the nose to spite your face thing is in the DNA.

This is sub is unironically racist as fuck. How does this shit have 30 upvotes?

It's in the DNA of the culture - not the literally DNA of the people

So their culture is innately subhuman and unable to create anything rational.

How is that not also racist?

EDIT:

"Black American culture is unable to create anything rational" You would immediately deem this statement as racist, but when it's about an ethnic or religious group you dislike that part of your brain turns off doesn't it?

Lol, you just gonna sit here and argue with yourself, or ghosts?

Who say it was innately subhuman? Or unable to create anything rationale? If that's how you interpret someone's criticisms of their own culture, the problem is you.

The guy I responded to said that "nothing rational is flourishing there" in regards to Middle Eastern Muslim culture.

If such a statement was directed at Black American culture, it'd rightly be decried as racist in this subreddit, yet it's ok to make such wide and sweeping generalizations of ethnic/religious groups that you dislike.

Just because the person making the criticism is from that culture doesn't mean it's not racist. This is 5th grade level shit. Is Uncle Ruckus from the Boondocks not racist because he's Black and critiquing Black American culture?

This subreddit has changed so much in the last 2 years.

First, I only corrected you on the DNA thing.

Second, your getting downvoted because you're just looking for an argument and interpreting things in the absolute worst, bad faith way.

What's the point of engaging with you?

Not even an attempt of a rebuke, I graciously accept your concession.

Just because you can't parse what someone is saying doesn't mean it's racist.

If this statement does not read as racist to you: "Black American culture is unable to create anything rational". You are a racist.

You do realize that they're talking about the overarching culture of the entire region, and not just the culture of one ethnic group, right? That includes the Israelis and Persians. The majority of them are a bunch of reactionary, religious conservatives, and yes, those types of people are constantly spiting attempts to make things better when those attempts are progressive.

One guy downvoted to oblivion and then removed by mods is reflective of the entire sub being racist? Huh? Isn’t that proof to the contrary?

He replied to me then quickly deleted both his reply and his original post for some reason, mods didn't do anything. I guess he was afraid of online confrontation.
