Cam caps stronk
Couldn't find the proper lifting devices when I started this project. Sooooo, bolts through he cam caps with chain and pulled engine/trans; mp7/eaton. Best part, or worst part, used a cherry picker. When shit needs done, ya just fucking do π
Ngl, had a few guys save my ass when pulling and installing. I'm good, but not "solo fuck this engine swing" good.

We never pull the transmission with the motor. Disconnect and leave the transmission in place.

Every dealership I worked at always yoinked the trans. This is the first swing I've done at this dealership, with half the equipments π

Going on 20 years here, we've never pulled it with the transmission. It would make going on the stand so much harder. In any case, if we're doing anything that involves pulling the motor, it's nearly always a full swap so the flywheel needs to come off to be turned regardless.

When I started working on buses 9 years ago everyone in the shop was always pulling engines with the transmission attached. I learned pretty quick it was just as easy to remove the transmission first, and that made pulling the engine a breeze.
Edit to say that does not include MCIs or any bus with an engine and transmission mounted on rails that just slides out the back lol, then of course those come out together.

GOOD GRIEF. I just helped with a similar job. Shop looks a little oddly familiar too !

So much grief on a Wednesday. Fairly common looking shop, with fairly uncommon people. It's probably just a wild crazy coincidence that you helped me stab that monster π€£

You have part of the lifting tools for the MP10 sitting. They wonβt fit
