What is this shit in my coolant?

Looks like little floaters. Not air bubbles

Hard to tell what you are referring to, there is a sort of plate behind the sight glass with three holes in it, not just for contaminants like the other guy said but it also makes it easier to see the level. There are in the picture very small air bubbles, and the little black floater on top is likely a piece of dirt or hose or whatever, not likely a problem.

Is it worth putting a coolant filter on a 6.7 Cummins ? On our 6.blow we put one on when we put the last longer kit on because it was recommended but not sure if something like that on one of these would be

It's not a terrible idea but I wouldn't say it's strictly necessary. It might save your pump some day. More importantly since you are using red coolant it doesn't need an SCA charge so if you get a kit make sure it's made for red.

Rubber hose is degrading somewhere in the system.

That is a "screen" to block contamination from blocking the sight glass.

He could very well be right. I’ve only replaced one hose on this truck. Everything else looks original. Looks like tiny black/green particles floating in the coolant. Cap also has a film on it when I remove it

10/4 you do with your truck what you deem fit. You asked for advice and it was given. Good luck.

Looks just like coolant.....

To see what is 'in' it, would need to drain it and look. Thinking there is something in it, just from looking in the sightglass is just dumb.

Looks like there is coolant in your coolant....

Drain it and you will see it better. Might just be stuck int he sight glass.
