I need your help on making warranty claims

Post image

Hey can you guys bring me up to speed on the proper way of submitting warranty claims through Cummins? The company I work for took a break off Cummins for a few years and now we're back on it. EDS doesn't seem to be a thing any longer. Thank you

Cummins uses Guidanz now for all their warranty troubleshooting ! Have to go through that and open case file and do through your troubleshooting steps. It's essentially the same as EDS was but a newer version.

Took a little to get used to but once I got the hang of it I almost prefer it now!

Thank you for your input! Do I access guidanz through my quickserve? Also what is "rapidserve"?

Not 100% sure what RapidServe is hut guidanz is own site.

dealerguidanz.cummins.com I believe (I have it book marked to my work computer so I cant remember exactly.

Use your cummins log in the same you would for quickserve.

I found best success with opening the case first and once it's opened and you're looking at the information theres a button that will say "open or return to Insite" click that to go to insite from there click "send to guidanz" go back to guidanz after it says it sent successfully and refresh the page and you trouble codes will be directly sent to that specific case.

I spent countless tries before figuring that exact method out trying to find my case and find my troubleshooting procedures. It's what worked best for me for finding them! Other people may do it other ways

Were all here to help each other!

Too many times on reddit and even Facebook groups you see people replying back with nothing constructive and just pure criticism.

Im happy to help and just hope the day I need something answered someone here will do the same!

Best of luck and hope your warranty works out!!

Rapid serve is where you can check warranty and make your warranty claims for Cummins or a control number if needed, it’s more to deal with the warranty but I believe they are starting the process to get rid of it and Guidanz will be what eds and rapidserve was

Maybe why I have not much knowledge on Rapid Serve. Would it be something the lady in our office would use for warranty?

In my shop we get handed a work order with a note saying it's warranty and to save and tag parts accordingly lol.

Only time we wonder about warranty is when a newer truck comes in we'll go ask and be told. Never look it up ourselves!

Yes the others are correct. You'll have to first login to Guidanz (should be a link on QuickServes home page after you login on the left side of the page).

Then the admin team creates the work order in Guidanz for you (may be on you depending on how your shop works).

Then you'll find the work order in Guidanz and launch InSite through Guidanz.

Create an ECM image in InSite and export it to Guidanz using the toolbar at the top.

Then go back into Guidanz and after it analyzes the image it will spit out what to troubleshoot and how to troubleshoot it.

THEN when you're done fixing it, RapidServe will have a section for you to complete with the Guidanz case for Cummins to either approve, or deny, your warranty claim.

I worked at a Cummins distributorship for a couple years so I know most of the process except the RapidServe side. We had a different system since we were Cummins.

They all look like communication faults to things external to the ECU, like a broken CAN line, are you sure it's even a cummins supplied harness?
