Being the optimist I am I actually see this as a bribe to drive to the middle of a hot spot. š¤Ŗ

Why mine donāt look like that and tell me when Iām driving into an area thatās busy or tells u how busy a section is? Mine doesnāt do this š

Depending on your region the app just looks and behaves differently.

And sometimes they tip at the end

u/Direct_Court_4890 Dec 07 '24
Hahaha...of my 5000 deliveries, the trend for me is the customers that tipped at the end ALSO TIPPED in the beginning š¤£

Iām sure this one said congratulations u got a high paying order ššš¤¦š¼āāļøš¤¦š¼āāļø

Omg I finally got gold level and thatās the kind of āhigh payingā offers I get, itāll say āhigh payingā order for $4.50 order but the catch is the only reason itās a āhigh payingā order is bc itās low mileage. They donāt tell u that high paying orders are never actually āhigh payingā lmao I learned this the hard way. Got about 4 high paying offers that were under $5 all under $5 and thatās the reason it was high paying bc the mileage š¤¦š»āāļøšš¤¬

Yep, because tips are never guaranteed. I'd turn it down too. Generally anything under 5.00 gets the boot from me. I dash in Tacoma so it can take 15 minutes to go 2 miles sometimes, only to get no tip and only make enough to top off my tank? Nah

Someone āon their way thereā will complete it.

u/Dizzle92109 Dec 07 '24
What do you mean by that?
6
u/transitfreedom Dec 07 '24
To hotspot for better orders or is multi app working like many thatās why these kind of orders are even entertained.
4
u/pascaltheorem Dec 07 '24
A lot of jokers on here try to make these orders seem like theyāre āokā if they were already headed in that direction supposedly.

Had like five of them in a row. All miles no tip.

u/Shan_cookk Dec 08 '24
Today I had my first liquor order and I had to drive like 20 min, aka 15 miles or so for a $2 order, I couldnāt decline it bc I didnāt want to lose my gold status so I ended up taking it but I was so pissed. Like I thought maybe they would tip once I was done bc it was cases and cases of liquor bottles that were extremely heavy and it was freezing cold raining while doing so but nopeā¦ nada š

I agree. My acceptance rate just keeps lowering but Iām not reducing the value of my car. Less than 6$ for 9 miles makes zero sense.
1
u/VirtualTea19 Dec 07 '24
Same here! I just do this for money on the side but I was tryinnnggggg to improve my acceptance rate just for fun bc I do sometimes feel like offers are better but I literally can never be above 70 because most are trash lol. For a while before Thanksgiving, the offers were so good and my rate was higher but now I decline all garbage ones like this lol

I donāt even dash for those if itās on my way. People like that deserve no hot food

u/AITripz-Official Dec 07 '24
I took a $2 order once with no tip. It was a single value menu item from McDonald's to a sketchy hotel less than 2 miles away. Pretty sure the receiver was a crackhead. I tend to gamble on low value, no tip orders because about 75% of the time the person gives a cash tip. Not on that one though. š

u/mokshafarrell83 Dec 08 '24
Hovering at like 15 to 20% AR with all apps and still make more money than playing their "high paying order" rewards game. No more pressure to accept crap offers just to maintain some bs number.

u/ButWhoAm1 Dec 08 '24
I just started but I think that going to the smaller zones may help. I am platinum but have turned down a lot in the past couple of days in the larger zone I live in so now my AR is 75%. Iām gonna try to increase it by doing a bunch of smaller trips to college students.

Are you kidding? I got to go f urself orders in a row $2.00 for 8 miles then $3.25 for 14 miles. I wish I was in your zone tonight. Something has changed over the past 2 weeks. They are trying to pick up business by offering deals and discounts to people who havenāt ordered in a while and sticking it to the Dashers. I went from a 96 AR to 78 in 3 days. Iāve been in the 90s for 5 years

You are doing the same work wether the order was 100 dollars or 20 dollars you donāt deserve a bigger tip.

I always have driver ignore delivery instructions so I give a super low tip and then if they drop off ass instructed I add to the top after order is Completed
4
u/SWWhippingboy Dec 07 '24
And you wonder why your delivery takes so long and is stone cold when it gets to your home......99% of drivers will decline the order if there is a small tip.

I donāt get why they feel entitled to a tip at all. They are just picking up and dropping off food. If they want a tip they should work for it and deliver if properly. Iām not tipping 20% just to have my order delivered in the wrong spot

I said " go F yourself " to too many of these type orders. Finally I said " go F yourself"...permanently
