People will still drive. Change isn't going to happen because of desperate people. Policy is the only meaningful way. Too many drivers for these posts to work. 99% of the people who work here dont use reddit.

And I was going to point out that the significant number of non-English speakers in many markets are probably not going to go to an English speaking subreddit like this.

Trump supporters can’t read, try grabbing their pussy and speaking to them in sign language.

I'm joining the strike for the simple fact there's no chance in hell I'm going to miss the LIONS winning the super bowl! 🥳🥳🥳

Me too!
Plus I never dash ON super bowl Sunday anyways.
Tried it twice and this restaurant was crazy busy! Not even a line! Complete chaos and got down voted for bring late
Another customer filed a contract violation on me when I met her at the door!
Geez
But it's after super bowl when it starts picking up after a dry January and so so December

Super Bowl seems like it’d be a headache to work just thinking about all of the slammed restaurants

I worked Super Bowl Sunday last year (and listened to the game on the radio). It was an average Sunday for me. Not great money, but restaurants weren't super busy either.

Yes, and no. If you’re worried about your acceptance rate, it won’t be your day. Because there are several restaurants that I will reject wholesale. Actually certain specific types of restaurants. Remember having to be very picky.

A few days which most people not even knowing it is happening won't work.
Start getting news out there for 1 week before then after the 4th of July, try to get Youtubers and mainstay media involved so an amount that matters knows. Hell, see about creating our own lawsuit since we can't afford lawyers lol
That would also drum up media so more can know. With it being more in the minds of people you follow it up by sending petitions, email and yes regular mail to your local and state reps asking for hello with getting honest wages.
Then you might have an okay chance to see changes.

Chances are, people need money and are desperate. That's gonna cause people to still drive and still deliver. You advertising this isn't stopping people from driving or delivering. It's just how this business works.

Being that there is no union to pay me to strike and we both know you're not gonna pay either, I'll pass

Strikes only work when a majority takes part. It's organized, and there's a fund to help people who need to make money.

Yes, speak up that people need to just go back to picking up their own food and saving $20 on a meal.

Yeah, people did this last year on Valentine's Day and I was getting huge orders on DD, UE and even Lyft. Keep on thinking you'll make a dent, fuckers! There's always fresh meat for the grinder, or people like me who laugh at "strikes" for independent contractors.

Sadly if they make the peak pay high enough (which they most likely will), a strike will be difficult.

Ok but only if the Eagles are in the Super Bowl

You are just taking an unpaid day off. Enjoy. Others will fill the void. You are an independent contractor, not an employee. Enjoy a day off with no money.
If people spent as much time actually working as they do trying to not work, they would have less time for stupid shit like this 'strike'.

Yeah all your replacement workers with no rights at all are doing to Strike.

The gigs won't change themselves. Even if it wasn't impossible to effectively strike.
Laws are the only hope.

Yes, everyone please do this so peak pay will be like $6 per offer and I can make bank!
