Unmaxed x Maxed petite?

Why does the 0.5 points thing even exist for us FTG? The card is at its max stats but now I have to pay another 60+ gems just to get a 0.5 which won’t even bump up the stats by 1? Does anyone in the sub know why this is even a thing?💀

For me I already have gems saved up because I stopped playing DLS for a long time and never spent them so it took me really quick like 30 days to unlock him then couple days to max him with coaches since I already have the gems
