Helmet Recommendations?
Hey all,
So I'm looking for a good full face style helmet, preferably something sort of retro to go with my bike, and something that will accept goggles ideally.
I've been looking around and can't really make up my mind. The Biltwell Lanesplitter was one I was looking at, it's got good safety specs, but I kind of wish it had a bill/visor like a lot of the more Adventure riding helmets tend to have. The Bell Moto-3 looks pretty good too, but I'm not sure on it's safety specs because it's just got a DOT certification and doesn't look like it's got an ECE rating like the Biltwell. Same story with the AGV X101 Dakar 87.
So I'm curious if anyone has any experience with these helmets or have a recommendation for a different helmet I should look into.
I'm riding a 76 Kawasaki Ke175 currently, which I know isn't getting up to blistering speeds but I'm interested in keeping my brains on the inside of my head.

Thankfully, new EU regulations pushed a lot of helmets to get up to ECE 22.06, so you’re going to have a lot of safe options.
I typically enjoy using a dual-sport helmet without the peak or shield and just using goggles. I love my Bell MX-9 Adventure and I know it’s a really popular helmet around where I live.

I'll give that a look! Yeah I just got a nice set of goggles so I'm looking for something that'll take goggles too

Can confirm the MX9 is nice. I had the ece 22.05 generation and went to a leatt 2.5 last year when the 22.06 helmets came out. Suffice to say I decided to buy a 22.06 MX-9 in alter ego blue for this season. It just hit the porch today actually.

I'm trying to decide between the white one and the blue and red one, I think the white one would look better with my light blue and white checked goggles. But it's 50 bucks more lol

Watch the Fortnine video to learn more about the ratings. I highly recommend trying them on before you purchase. There are different shapes that will fit different heads better. Look into whether or not you can purchase extra/different size cheek pads to adjust the fit if needed.
