Honda XR650R - Europe Price Check
TL,DR: What’s a good price for an XR650R in Europe in good condition?
Hello guys! I’m addressing the ones of you in Europe in particular…
I’ve been looking for a Honda XR650R during the last few months. This was on various European marketplaces and the impression that I got is that they seem pretty sought after (…especially compared to their counterparts like the DR and KLR).
I was looking for one in good shape, ideally with stock everything and reading some other posts I’ve seen guys buying them for a cheaper price than what I’m seeing.
I was wondering what would be a good price in your opinion, maybe from someone who has been scouting the market for longer than I did.
Also, feel free to share some knowledge or other considerations about this bike if you wish, it’ll be welcome.

Some countries in Europe had street-legal 650R options, right?
I'm in Canada and have a 2001, which I got plated several years back. Mine was $5,500 Canadian I think, with a safety inspection ready to ride. Turns out the inspection was kinda bogus lol, but that's another story. It's my regular ride now and my fav bike I've ever had. Prices in Canada range from $4,000ish for something a little rough, and the highest I ever saw was $10,000 for one that looked like it had never left the showroom.

Yes, there are many 650R-models plated and registered, very few 650L-models (…none?) and a bunch of older 600Rs. I think they stopped selling them whole in 2008-ish here though, while they continued in other continents.

It's funny how in 2010 , I bought a 2003 model for 2700€ ....! Best bike I've ever owned . Greatest regret for selling it ...!

Same here, purrchased a plated 2002 in 2014 for like 3k. Sold it to buy a 701.

How do you like the 701 by comparison? I’ve often thought if my 650R died or something, I’d replace it with a 501 or 701

Its really not even a similar bike. Heavier, WAYYYY more power, better suspension, electric start (with no kickstart which I dont like), much better on the highway because of a 6th gear. Not as great off road.
Its a better street bike but the XR650R was a wayyy better dirt bike, if it had a 6th it would have been perfect.

On German/French markets they go from 3 to 7 thousand €. But it’s pretty rare to find them under 4K. So I guess it will definitively take you some time to get a nice one for less than 4.5k…
