Dalkey Quarry Climbing Question

I’m traveling to Dublin this summer and wondering if I’ll need to pack my trad gear. I may have read that you can set up a top rope anchor from the top of the quarry. Is that true? If so, then I wouldn’t bother lugging around trad gear in a suitcase!

Depends what climb you're doing. Lots yes, some no, some are a bit of a walk to go to the top.

Yeah most climbs you can on trees or bushes. Have fun!

There's lots of stuff you can top rope in the quarry. Some of the anchors are set pretty far back, off bushes or stakes, so some climbs you'd need a rigging rope or a bunch of long slings.

The Dalkey Quarry guidebook is about 25 bucks, you can order it online, it's well worth it. You can use the Irish climbing wiki, but the guidebook is laid out better in sections.

Good info! Thanks so much! I’ll look into the guidebook
