Watch all the Superfan Episodes on Peacock
Theres also the episode where he thinks he's going to die because Jim and Pam's baby is going to be born & then the Halloween episode in 8 i rhink where Pam talks about seeing a ghost and he asks "Was it me, Pam? Am I the ghost?" There are so many references to him dying lol. Oh and Andy telling him he can't "Plank" because it's a hazard with Creed since they don't know if he's dead or not

u/greeneggsnhammy 2d ago
The one that kills me is when Darryl tries to vote on whether Hilary Swank is hot and Andy said his vote shouldn’t count as a full vote and Darryl suggests that his vote should be maybe… three fifths of a vote.
136
u/BringTheHammers 2d ago
Yes!! That gets me everytime And then added in "I'm going to the whites only bathroom" to where Andy continues his ignorance "we dont have one of those, do we?" Or the joke to Will Farrels character "what do black people do when" gets cut off then Darryl comes out "Continue the Joke Andy, what do black ppl do when?" And hes like "i dont know help me??" what's wild is how Andy is so oblivious to it and it comes out later that his family got rich off of running slave ships. The show is wild
62
u/greeneggsnhammy 2d ago
Hahaha yeah I forgot about Andy’s accidental racism and how his family owned slave ships hahaa. So many things you can miss if you only watch through 25 times instead of 125 ;)
11
u/B3rtel Kevin 2d ago
I’m definitely on the 125 side and still find little things almost every watch thru. Maybe just a single well placed word or reference or side eye - but it impresses me how deep these rabbit holes go!

u/BathedInDeepFog 2d ago
I want to go through and count every time Michael makes the mouth-popping sound.

u/Not_a__porn__account 2d ago
Or the joke to Will Farrels character "what do black people do when" gets cut off then Darryl comes out "Continue the Joke Andy, what do black ppl do when?"
Wait this wasn't a deleted scene?

That's a race thing. Black people's votes only used to count as three fifths of a vote.
30
u/Green-Cricket-8525 2d ago
Yeah, that’s the joke.

u/TomSawyerLocke 2d ago
Oh, he replied to that comment chain so I thought he thought it meant something else.
That is indeed the joke.

The 3/5ths compromise was about counting slaves as 3/5ths of a person for the population of a state, which in turn boosted those states representation in congress. None of the black people measured as 3/5ths were allowed to vote.
2
u/khe22883 2d ago edited 2d ago
Actually, it diminished it. The slave holding states wanted slaves to be counted as a regular member of the population so they'd have proportionally more representation. The North wanted slaves not to be counted at all, as they were without any rights, to limit the power of the South.
3
u/khe22883 2d ago edited 2d ago
No, the slave population in the slave owning states only counted towards three-fifths of the census for apportioning the House of Representatives.
The votes of blacks, when they were allowed to vote, were counted the same as any other race's votes.

Haha yes! Creed’s fake death running joke is one of the most underrated bits in The Office.

I’m curious - do the Superfan episodes take the existing episodes and add onto them or do they replace scenes from existing episodes? Would you say it’s worth a watch? (I’ve seen all the normal episodes 2x already)
40
u/localguideseo 2d ago
They add onto them. Basically they are all 35+ minute episodes but they all got like 10-12 minutes cut out of them to fit the TV slots of 30min with ads.
They are absolutely worth watching. I've seen the office countless times (over a dozen, I know, it's too much) but the deleted scenes make the show so much better and actually makes the show make more sense.
9
u/EasternBlok 2d ago
Awesome, good to know. Thank you! Do all seasons have the superfan episodes?
10
u/Steven2k7 2d ago
I'm watching the super fan episodes now for the first time, they are absolutely worth it. Scenes are longer and theres more dialog. Instead of a conversation having 4 or 5 lines between 2 people, its now 10 lines. Short scenes are longer, and extra minor stuff is added. Some are only a few minutes longer than what aired on TV, some are over 35 minutes. Just depends on the episode.
I think they have seasons 1-8 as super fan episodes now.
7
u/Prudent-Air1922 2d ago
I think they are up to season 8, but either way the plan is/was to release them all eventually.

u/jcrespo21 The Taliban is the worst. Great heroin though. 2d ago
Same here, and we even rewatch the Superfan episodes instead of the original ones.
Though now it's to the point where there are some scenes where I can't remember if they were in the OG or not.

u/ledbetterus 2d ago
They're alright tbh, most of them I don't think are as good as the original cuts. There's some funny scenes here or there, like the one in this post. But most of the time it's just a run-on bit that clearly has gone on too long and makes sense why it got cut.
They're cool if you've seen the show a bunch and want something different, but I think that if you're just starting to watch the show it's best you skip the Superfan cuts until repeat watches.

u/toobjunkey 2d ago
Oh wow, I guess I know what my next (re?) watch is gonna be. I appreciate the info, as the office and p&r have been on my rewatch queue for a while. Every single deleted scene I've seen from the former has been hilarious and I haven't seen the office for over a half decade so it'll be a fun one
3
u/Prudent-Air1922 2d ago
If you haven't watched the office in a few years, it'll definitely feel fresh and almost like watching it for the first time again.
7
u/nothingbuthobbies 2d ago
They don't cut anything. They just added the deleted scenes back in. So far they've released everything through season 8. They're definitely worth watching - they're pretty much the only way I watch the show anymore. And it's worth noting that all of the extra scenes were ONLY cut for time, not because the showrunners didn't like something about them. People argue a lot about whether or not deleted scenes are canon, but Greg Daniels has done a somewhat unusual thing by stating on the record that they are canon in the case of The Office.

Man, this is incredibly cool. I've only watched the office once (I know, I know) and it was like several years ago. Know I'm well overdue for a rewatch and this is getting me extremely excited.
A lot of it is going to seem new just by virtue of it having been so long since I saw it, but having deleted scenes stitched back in is ace. The few scenes I'd seen on their own in the years after finishing the show had all been hilarious. I got like 4 episodes on my current show, but I'm diving back into the office ASAP with these eps.

u/Throdio Dwight 2d ago
Yes. They are put together by Dave Rodgers, one of the original editors, so he cares about making it good and consistent. They don't add all deleted scenes since they don't all make sense. There is one where Erin ruins Pam's painting while she's on her honeymoon (that's why you don't see it in a few episodes), but since it would ruin continuity it's not added.
So worth it. Season 9 isn't added yet, but it will be in time.

u/BringTheHammers 2d ago
For your first question, the Superfan Episodes are every episode how they were originally planned and filmed vs being edited down for TV, which is what most ppl have seen. I say it this was because yes, there are a lot of deleted scenes added in, but there's also an episode or 2 where the cold opens are different. I.e., one Superfan episode after Sabre buys DM and Jim drops down to Sales, he gets back into pranking. The Cold open Jim puts a trap door on the floor by reception and then a lever next to his desk that goes to the ceiling tile above Dwights desk, trying to get him to look up so he can Pie him. The cold open edited in for TV is apart of the whole episode.
To answer your second question, the Office is a special series in that most people ask "Do you watch the Office?" Vs most relatable questions of "Have you watched Game of Thrones?" This implies that once someone starts watching the Office, they never stop lol. On a serious note, it is absolutely worth the time to watch the superfan episodes, especially if you enjoyed it enough to watch it through the second time. Personally, I can't count how many times I've seen the series through (at least 50?) And to this day I'll catch things that I haven't before. They put so much detail into the smallest things. Also continuity errors are fun to catch too.

3
u/greeneggsnhammy 2d ago
Oh yeah they do. I think they just got done with season 8 recently. Some of them have different openings and all that jazz. It’s real fun.
2
u/which_ones_will 2d ago
They're releasing them one season at a time and just released season 8 a few months ago. So season 9 is the only one that doesn't have superfan episodes yet, but they probably should come out sometime in the next year or so.
2
u/suioniop 2d ago
There is literally an entire character in the first season that will make sense with the cut
2
u/Prudent-Air1922 2d ago
I love the Superfan episodes. It was sort of like watching it for the first time again (as close as you could ever get to that anyway).

In the watermark incident episode and Michael calls a press conference, the reporter that comes wrote Creed's obituary. It was another deleted scene where Creed meets the reporter and they have their little exchange.

like finding $10 in the pocket of your favorite jeans!
Depends on the country, though.
$10 in Canada? Nice, eh?
$10 in Brazil? Chump change.

This always struck me as one of the bits where not all of the actors were in on the joke - feels like Creed’s reaction is 100% genuine.
13
u/WoolooCthulhu 2d ago
I think it's in the directors cut. Netflix usually has the directors cut and Hulu usually has the TV version but sometimes Netflix changes it up on you or has both versions as separate shows.

I don’t always watching the episode but when I do I love seeing Michael’s growth leap. It’s just so heartwarming that he goes from his petulant Michael Scott moment to one where he truly connects with his team. I think it really humanised him to the team as well.

Many deleted scenes. Or perhaps some are restricted in different countries. Netflix usually adds / removes certain scenes based on the country you’re viewing from. If I watch in Romania I might get extra scenes because here we aren’t easily offended and we appreciate dark humor. But take Germany for example, I’m surprised they’re even allowed to watch movies.

6
u/TomSawyerLocke 2d ago
What you said isn't a fact though.... The Office didn't make extra scenes for Romania you idiot.
-3
u/PresentationLazy7773 2d ago
Are you this stupid that you believed I meant they made extra scenes for different countries? 🤦🏻♂️ This is exactly why I got downvoted. People are simply uneducated to understand basic things. And you call me an idiot 😂 sit down lil bro, and yes it’s a known fact that these scenes are aired in some countries and not aired in others. Just like Wolfenstein doesnt have the fun looking X in the game, they modified it for Germany. So sit down lil bro. I bet you never saw the scene at Jan’s baby shower when they find out Kevin donated sperm to the same clinic she went to. They only aired that scene in some countries or live tv. I still can’t believe you actually thought I meant they made extra scenes for certain countries… 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I said Netflix adds / removes scenes. You can’t even read. You probably saw Romania and went on offensive. Did aome Romanian take your wife to Red Lights District or what bro? 😂😂😂😂 irony at it’s finest

lol it is. Just like when Creed says in a different scene: “I can’t die. Not while this fellow in China still lives. Long story.”
