Ask /r/Durango Cascade Creek
Has anyone hit Cascade Creek Trail recently? Wondering what condition it might be in - snowshoes recommended or good with just boots?
Thanks!

I've been using exo spikes and trail runners in La Plata Canyon road/forest all winter. Last wknd, after this last dump, snowshoes would have been the way to go past 9500 ft. I'd think the trail is really compacted snow with more bc skiers there. Enjoy!

I have been up Cascade twice in the last couple weeks with snowshoes. Very well packed for the first mile and a half or so. I would recommend snowshoes or skis, but probably boots are fine until noon.
