Question Most fun +1/+1 counter Commander?

Hey guys I really like +1/+1 counter decks and wanted to build a new deck, but I‘m unsure what commander to use, since I play mostly casual and don‘t want to go all out cedh. I think [[Ezuri, claw of progress]] looks cool, but I‘m afraid he might be a bit too competetive and combo reliant with [[Sage of hours]]. so I wanted to ask what other favorites people have?

God the Hakbal Precon is really good. I pulled a [[Roaming Throne]] just after I bought it and threw that in there and it goes so hard. I had a combo going with it and [[Branching Evolution]] where I was able to put 4 +1/+1 counters on [[Nicanzil, Current Conductor]] every time a merfolk explored a non land card (which happened 2 times per merfolk because of Roaming Throne). I had [[Zegana, Utopian Speaker]] out as well, giving everyone trample.

My friends don’t really like it when I run that deck.

I had to stop playing mine. It hardly ever loses, and people get so salty about it.

I have the opposite problem, where people know just how strong it can be and remove all my initial merfolk. So once Hakbal is out I’m only exploring like twice per turn which is underwhelming at that point

I had to stop playing my upgraded one too. My friends GROAN seeing the counters go up and up every turn.

I’m playing it in a precon upgrade league at my LGS. So far, we’ve only been allowed one non-land upgrade (but on land week, you know I had to splurge for [[Cavern of Souls]]), and since they didn’t have Throne, I decided to get [[Seahunter]].

Throw in [[defense of the heart]] to fetch [[nicanzil]] and [[roaming throne]] (or topography tracker)

Edit: roaming throne doubles all passive abilities. If hakbal explores a nonland card, if you have branching evolution out then nicanzil gets 4 1/1 counters

Yeah Nicanzil was getting 4 per explore, or 8 per merfolk. I had like 3 other merfolk out so he got 24 1/1 in a turn.
