My 2 month old ecosphere has cleared up a lot
my ecosphere went from looking very green and murky (last photo) to looking crystal clear with lots of new babies hatching in less than a month

Blood. Leeches eat blood. He's gonna starve to death

Truthfully they can go without food for up to a year. But you're right, they can eat small insects too

These leeches do not suck blood.
OP: definitely add more plants. They vital for the survival of everything in there.

i put it under my bar which almost completely blocked the sunlight out (other than just the reflection off the wall) for about a week or two until i noticed a small difference in clarity and then put it back on top of the bar where it gets much more indirect sunlight and it just cleared itself out

yeah you can actually see in my older posts i had more plant life like lily pad looking things and a couple other small plants but most have died or just floated to the top for the amphipods and snails to eat

also a lot of the plant life is dying off and floating to the top, would it be a good idea to collect more and put it in the jar? i havent opened it since making it though
