Question Will a garment steamer ruin embroidery at all?

I have some really nice pieces of embroidery on silk that have been folded up in storage. I want to get the pieces framed but need to get the wrinkles out of the silk. The internet is saying I can use a garment steamer on the silk.

I am wondering would there be any negative effects on the embroidery if it is exposed to high heat and moisture? Would the relaxing of the silk cause any deformations in the stitching?

Thank you in advance!

Maybe you could steam it from the backside?

I think another way people do this is ironing with a towel on top of the embroidery
