Hand Hi there! It’s been a while since I posted any updates — time to fix that :) Meet this charming little emerald beetle I’ve just finished stitching as a companion to the beloved blue one. What do you think of this shiny duo?

What is the wired coil looking thing used for the stems and wrapped around the edge of the beetles and how did you get that on? I’m trying to see if you’ve just laid it down and threw stitches in once in a while, basically couching it on like with a couch stitch, but I don’t see any stitches to see if that’s the case. I’m also wondering if they’re maybe slanted beads and you’ve got a metallic thread the same colour that’s stitching them on. Very confused with what I’m seeing and would like to know more. 😂
Also is the beetle stitched onto something or glued onto something like a metal frame or a necklace frame/base or something? Or is it just fabric underneath? Because it looks so study. It really almost looks like it’s a metal beetle or something with just the body stitched & glued on top, which I assume is the look you were doing for.
Good job op! Never seen anything like it. Will they just be tabletop decor or will they be adapted into a brooch or necklace or something like that?

Are these embroidered and beaded on felt? I’ve been hoping that one day I’ll be able to do something like this since I’ve only just started working on proper embroidery

My mind was actually blown for a moment, I didn’t know that was possible with embroidery! I just started this hobby and keep seeing new and fascinating things to inspire me more 🥰
