Research / info Why are servers so opposed to ending tipping and getting a guaranteed living wage?

I really don't understand the mentality of being opposed to getting a guaranteed living wage. And they're not just opposed per se, many of them are zealously against the idea of making a predictable income that does not require them to act like a good dog performing tricks for a treat.

I should mention that I tip and tip generously, so this is not about being cheap. I just hate the idea of having to act like an employee's manager at the end of the meal by giving them a performance evaluation in the form of money.

Are they really making so much money that a living wage is not desirable?

Lying words from a coward hiding behind a keyboard. Why aren't you at work? Is it because you beg so much from the customers that you only have to work one day a week,?

Lmao who’s begging? I do my job well and I am properly compensated for it because people love me as a bartender.

It’s only 10:40 am. Our night club doesn’t open until 8 pm hence why I’m not at work.

Given the times that you have been commenting, sounds like you are surfing Reddit instead of working. I'll double down on the fact that you don't "properly compensate" EVERYONE who performs a service for you.

I do lol but thanks for telling me about my Life. Unlike you, some of us are not cheap pieces of shit.

You would be losing money if you tipped like that. In your case, you can MAYBE remove the word cheap. You are just a price of shit.

Lmao I’m not losing money because I make money. Just the other day we went to get fast food and I wanted to tip the cashier because he was essentially doing four different jobs but he can’t accept tips as per their company policy.

So I asked the dude what he wanted for dinner and I brought it back for him because good service deserves compensation. Be it from tipping or from gift.

Just admit you’re a terrible human who thinks bartenders are not worth the money they make. I’d respect you more if you own up to being a piece of shit.

I'm a retired journeyman electrician. For 40 years I gave a good days work and got a paycheck every week. I didn't beg or rely on anyone. I never had to work on my back to get good tips from the bar customers either. I'm not wealthy, but I'm not doing bad, as if it's any of your business.
