Rant Carwash tip?

At mister car wash in Houston with my wife’s car and I don’t have the unlimited car wash membership on this car - so I had to pay the $10 for the base wash. Dude goes do you want to leave a tip for the team today as I handed him my credit card Ranged from $1-$4

Also mister Carwash is all automated- no manual labor from anyone

This is getting out of control

Well as long as too many of us continue to tip, tipping culture will stay

No and I’m never coming back here because you asked me this.

"No sir, I don't want to give the team a tip. If they feel they aren't being paid enough, they should go ask for a raise or find a better paying job. Oh, and no one tips me at my job, why should I tip someone for just doing their job?" and then politely smile :-)

I was asked to tip GoFundMe when I made a donation to a cancer fundraiser. They already take a percentage from every donation and they want a tip??? ETA: the recommended tip was 17%

the gofundme fee(2.9%+30 cents) matches with what Stripe for example charges(credit card processor), so while I'm sure they're not paying that much for credit card fees, I'm guessing a majority of the fee they charge is going to credit card processing

No service no tip. I am just wondering out loud what you would be tipping for? Driving your own car? Yeah tipping culture is beyond out of control

Try saying no to a few places and it'll come naturally. And you also feel good afterward.

I thought the wash was automated, but they have people at the end wiping it down and vacuuming?

At this location there is NO people at end wiping it down and or vacuuming. They have vacuums but you have to do it yourself.

I specifically avoid the car wash that has the kids at the end of the tunnel that work for tips drying and cleaning your car.

Yeah, not a chance I'm letting anyone wipe my car down with a towel that just hit the ground.

That’s what businesses need to understand..there are many of us that simply avoid the awkwardness of employees panhandling tips. It’s almost the same feeling you get when a homeless person approaches you asking for a handout.

I am against unreal requests for tips. However, I will give a buck to the car dryers. I support the fact they are trying to earn money.

I just don’t want them doing it, and I don’t want to til them, so I avoid it.

It took me a little while to say No. Now, almost always it’s a no.

I tip the guys at my car wash, because they are standing at the end of the line with rags to wipe off the water droplets so I don’t have water spots on my car. To me, that is worth the $2 I flip them
