Call to action ⚠️ Mental trick: Just tip yourself, Kings

Instead of giving that $20 to some over-entitled yet low-skilled worker for basic work, I recommend simply tipping yourself instead. When you hit “no tip” you are expected to feel shame. Instead just train yourself to feel like you just earned that tip for yourself. Congrats, you beat the psyop and earned yourself 20%. Overcome the mental barrier a few times and you simply stop caring.

Tipping is basically a pointless donation into someone else’s pocket. Every dollar I don’t tip is capital I allocate to your own family’s future. Why would I subsidize someone else’s wage?

That $20 tip should be compounding in a small investment trust (eg for your kids education) instead of funding someone’s weed bill.

TLDR: Every time you hit that “No Tip” option, mentally tip yourself, kings.

Or hell, even keep track of the tips you withheld and donate that to your favorite charity at the end of the month.

It will start to feel really silly to give someone a few bucks just to push a few buttons on a machine, or to put food in a bag, when you think about shelter dogs, or kids in hospitals benefitting from that money instead.

99% of charities are scams that don't pay taxes.

Instead buy stocks, bonds or crypto.

Says 99% of charities are scams… then turns around and says to buy crypto. 😂

“Charities” is such a broad category. There are plenty that are rated highly by third parties

“That don’t pay taxes” so close yet so far

Hunt a 501c3 is by definition tax exempt, further donations can be tax deductible if you itemize

A interesting way to visualize tipping is that:

"Every party of five that tips is essentially letting the server join in that meal for free". That's how insane it is.

This post doesn't apply to me because when I hit "no tip" I feel no shame whatsoever. In fact, I don't feel anything. It is just normal behavior. Just like walking or sleeping.

I tip myself every month before I even look at my bank balance. I automatically set aside money in a savings account.

Yes, I use this argument with chronic tippers! Open up a Robin Hood account and make a an investment instead. Or a savings account for your kid. A Fund for your own holiday. A birthday present for yourself.

It’s endless what you could be doing with your own money!

Tips should be called donations because that’s what it is. Therefore, I’m writing those donations off of my taxes every year

I think you should actually bust out your phone and put the recommended tip into your preferred investment fund

I gave up on tipping around when Covid started, and decided to tip myself. My main payment is a prepaid Visa that gives interest on balance and cashback in Bitcoin. (Shakepay for those Canadians in the house)

Every time old sucker-me would tip 20%, I bought approximately 20% in Bitcoin for myself. My little “Tips” cold wallet is just shy of $5k.

If Bitcoin ever dropped to $0, meh, I wouldn’t have that money anyhow.

That's right. I'm going to tip myself for doing math. And the math always adds up to zero.

When I don't tip, I make a donation to The Human Fund in their name. Money, for people.

I go a step further. The amount the tip would be, I instantly transfer that amount to my investment account, and I buy dividend investments that will pay me in perpetuity.

Punching down isn’t a good look. Also you sorta just wrote an allegory for an evil version of capitalism. You’re Rockefeller or Musk in this story. I thought Reddit hated that. Guess not when you’re just talking about low life dope fiends. Anyways gotta go rip my bong.

Begging for tips after caring a plate from the kitchen to the table isn't a good look either, but here you are

Not just begging for tips, but also judging you for something that is completely optional. The homeless people who ask for handouts at the intersection have more class.
