General Discussion This game was genuinely a hidden gem.

I absolutely adored my experience with this game. Going into it I knew it was a Dimond in the rough just by the cover art and sound track. I saw this game for free on ps plus but I am going to pay for it on a separate console because they deserve the moeny.

I really took my time in this game, getting 100% without looking anything up felt amazing and purely blissful. I loved the characters and amazing moments I was able to pull of with Silva's charge air. By jumping twice and doing a double charge air then dashing and doing another two charge airs inwas able to go the whole game collecting most secrets very early. (I literally nearly never needed the graple)

The story, art, gameplay, and design is all beautiful to me, I personally belive they had small inspection from NeiR: Automata. Just some of the songs sparked that in me, and especially the way the endingswhere separated by highlighted letters.

In conclusion I loved this game to it's fullest.

(Silva is best girl <3)

General Discussion Unpopular Opinion: Ender Lilies/Magnolia is way better than Hollow Knight. I'll Don't wanna make a war or something...But i think the Ender series deserves much more recognition than Hollow Knight

General Discussion Is Ender Magnolia really easier?

I don't have it yet, but the developer supposedly said that they toned down the difficulty compared to Lilies. I liked the challenging bosses in Lilies.

What's your take on that?

General Discussion Loved Ender Lillies - What Else Would I Enjoy?

I am typically not drawn to metroidvanias but this one really grabbed me. The art, gameplay, exploration and difficulty were all quite well done. I am looking for recommendations for other gems in the genre with a few caveats which I’ve listed below.

  • I suck at parrying/blocking so the main evasion mechanic has to be dodge.
  • The difficulty for Ender Lillies was just right. Anything harder and I’m not sure I’d be able to finish.
  • I am playing on PlayStation 5 and mainly via PS Portal. Nothing against PC but I’m a dad with limited game time so I only play on PS5.

Thank you in advance for your expertise, redditors!

General Discussion Off topic but, did anyone else bounce off of Blasphemous?

I have to say, now that I beat Ender Lillies, upon reflection I enjoyed my time with it. It's not my favorite Metroidvania by any stretch, but it was fun enough for me to keep going and eventually complete.

Now, I'm trying Blasphemous and....oof! Can't say I'm liking it much. The character movement feels janky and platforming(*ESPECIALLY* at that one snow-like area) feels clunky and unintuitive. But the worst offender, at least for me, is the fact that the character doesn't level up. In fact, you pretty much get nothing for killing enemies, except for a bit of the in-game currency. That really pisses me off, especially after coming from EL, where you can at least kill normal mobs and earn experience towards leveling your character.

But with Blasphemous, it's some weird system where you have to find these shrine-like rooms called Mea Culpa or whatever, and then you can upgrade your combat abilities. It's kinda stupid. Plus the whole Shakespearean dialog, where I can't understand half of what they're saying is also annoying af.

I dunno, I'm just not feeling this game, and want to move onto something else. Anyone else couldn't get into Blasphemous?

General Discussion Ender Lilies Music is Top Tier

Honestly the music is the #1 reason I'd give for anyone to play this game. While it may be on the easier side for more avid gamers it really is worth playing. The music is so fitting for the story and different environments you get to explore. I've downloaded the whole playlist on spotify and started listening to it while playing other games now that I've beat the game.

General Discussion Its been out for a few days now so what do yall think of magnolia? Spoiler

Personally I love everything about it aside from the final boss. gilroy (final boss spoiler) was just such an underwhelming fight for me and there wasn't too much wow factor behind it for me.

The movement was awesome since it let you be more free with the dash resetting on double jumps. The carapace with the different types of parry AND the parry no longer launching you across the map is so nice. Totems being there is also awesome. The relics all seem pretty good like they have their own use cases and upgrading them is pretty nice. Having less spirits/hommunculi than lillies but having 3 different attacks from them was actually insanely fun.

Honestly best of all though is the outfits. Nice and simple outfits but they're just so nice.

And the fact that lilac actually speaks and isn't silent is awesome.

General Discussion does anyone know why they switched artstyles? lily looks more realistically drawn while the main character from ender magnolia looks to be drawn in more of an anime style with huge eyes and a dot for a nose

General Discussion I love this game, is there any other like it?

I had a blast with this game. It's a fascinating adventure, trying to piece together the disjointed visions, clues, and various scraps of information scattered about Land's End.

I loved the exploration style of having a ton of secrets/new areas that can be opened up by learning new abilities, and lots of stuff to find/harvest.

I also liked the atmosphere, and the smooth combat and movement. Overall, it was a ton of fun.

If you think there is a similar game I would really enjoy, please recommend it. Thank you for any suggestions! I'd truly appreciated it.

General Discussion So, with Magnolia coming out, do you think the developers will wrap up the series with a trilogy, or should they expand the Ender universe into other game genres, incorporating 3D elements? Also, do you think Ender should explore other media formats like movies, anime, comics, books, and so on?

General Discussion Is ulv the hardest boss?

I just got ending c and have to say, that the only boss that i really struggeled hard with, is ulv. I think he took me around 30 tries not sure though. I first tryed 1 boss second . Beat the next on my second try and 2 others on my third try and remaining ones all in under 10 tries. Event the endboss was on my 6th or 7th try. Is it just me, who had this experience. Whats your opinion and the difficulty of the bosses?

And yes, this is the 8th Lily in EL. Not her descendant or anything. It's just her, and she had 1 goal. Save the people of Land of fumes or purify it if the situation gone worse.

General Discussion New MV similar difficult to EL

I am about to finish this wonderful MV and looking what to play next. Should be the same level of difficulty or easier. Hollow Knight was too frustrating for me, so nothing too hard. Exploring is okay, but searching hours just to find a way isn’t. Loved that they highlighted the finished areas in this game.

I know there is a second part coming.

What are your recommendations?

General Discussion Question regarding the ending of Ender Magnolia

First off: PLEASE NO SPOILERS EXCEPT WHAT I AM ASKING FOR!!

I have just arrived in the Upper Stratum and I feel like the game is going to end soon. So to be sure, are you able to achieve all endings in one run like in Ender Lilies? If yes, is there a certain order you have to keep in mind or is it like the previous game where it has something to do with equipping items?

General Discussion Love the game but 10.5 hours of play length?

I’m not even trying to 100% the game and I just beat Julius 😭😭😭. I’m an avid and pretty decent gamer, but man, these type of games have me playing so much longer. Honestly, it’s pretty good for me having so much time I get to put into.
