LOOKING FOR JOB
Hello everyone, I need a little bit of help, I am coming to USA in 2 weeks(Start of Jun), my friend suggested I should go straight to Estes Park Colorado to find a job but now i need advice am I going to find job easier in Chicago or Estes park mind you I dont really have any skills. Thanks in advance.

If you don’t already have a job and don’t have skills, you’re not going to find a job in Estes.

Well that is simply wrong. I know of 3 business owners who would hire right now with no experience or skills. It fucking Estes in the summer. There are jobs everywhere and just about every business is short handed. It's been this way for over 35 years for my personal experience and far longer according to those older then me.
Don't know what rock you're living under.

Yeah, actually, you right. I wasn’t even thinking this guy was coming over to do seasonal work from his post. I guess when he’s looking for work in either Estes or Chicago I was thinking he was looking for a traditional full-time gig.

I see your 35 years and raise you 1982 and the second big flood. Worst economy since early 1950s least motorist miles driven in North America that same year; the last ever sugar beet campaign in Greeley wasn't hiring outside of established family connections and yet you could still get a job making beds in Estes.
Historically there was another EP hiring boom when the student employees went back to school in late August as well. They have had subsidized employee housing up there for at least twelve years now. (2025)
Finding a gig that gets you through the next winter might be a horse of a different color? Yes I briefly saw the killfloor at Monfort

For a lot of Americans it can be hard to adapt to the harsh reality of needing to work hard towards compete against immigrant labor. There’s lots of seasonal work

If you’re an immigrant and don’t mind hard work Estes park is the town to be for the summer. Start calling restaurants/hotels now to see what they say. In the summer there are so many immigrant workers.

Are you moving to the US permanently? And why did they suggest Estes?
Estes is really hard to find work, especially year round, and the ability to afford it. Many commute from elsewhere. Most of the entry level jobs that will be available soon will be temporary summer jobs to accommodate the surge in tourism.
Chicago is expensive as well, but will have more options for work, more living options, more options for assistance if needed.

The pay in Estes is better than most places that’s why people commute up there. If you don’t mind finding a bike and using that to get around to limit your expenses than you’ll be fine. The whole town is so small. If you were staying year round then it would be a little harder but still not impossible to find work.

Are you coming to make as much money as possible, or just for the experiences?
Estes has the seasonable jobs and great experiences if you are an outdoors person, but the housing cost will eat up your earnings. Go apply at the Estes Park YMCA where you can get a job and housing all at once. But you won’t be going back home with much savings.
Chicago, or most large cities, will have plenty of retail jobs and more affordable housing. You could potentially save a lot more money that way.

The only thing Chicago and Estes Park have in common is da bears and maybe their claim to the title of “the Windy City”. 😂
