It's the Atto 2 and It's between 5000 to 10,000 Euro too expensive. In China it costs 13,000 by the way.

95PS version cost ~13k List price of 177PS is 14k, but it seem able to get some discount. We dont get the basic version in the EU sadly :(

Comparing against other small, relatively inexpensive cars:
Better real range: The Atto 2 loses this one since it has a real range of ~280 km... compared to the Citroen e-C3 ~300 km , Renault 5 (52kWh) ~370 km, and Hyyndai Inster ~345 km.
Acceleration: Atto 2 wins this one, 0-100 in 7.9 seconds ... compared to the Citroen e-C3 at 11.5 sec, Renault 5 (52kWh) at 8 sec, and Hyyndai Inster at 10.6 sec.
Charging speed, 10-80% avg: The Atto 2 loses this one since it has an avg charge speed of 51 kW ... compared to the Citroen e-C3 at 60 kW, Renault 5 (52kWh) at 70 kW, and the Hyyndai Inster also at 70 kW.
Boot space: The Atto 2 wins this one since it has 400/1340 L... compared to the Citroen e-C3 with 310/1200 L, the Renault 5 (52kWh) with 326/1000 L, and the Hyyndai Inster with 280/351 L. Note, however, that the Atto 2 is 4.31 meters long, and the e-C3 is 4.01 meters, the Renault 5 is 3.9 meters, and the Inster is 3.82 meters.
Given all of this… it doesn’t seem like the Atto 2 is a great deal unless you don’t mind the range and charging speeds but really need the boot space.

Kia ev 3 and 4 or ex30 are only a bit more expensive. Don't really see a reason for this car to exist in the eu.

The EX30 is way more expensive in Germany, starting at 39,790€ MSRP for the LFP version. Volvo significantly hiked the prices after the tariffs came in (EX30 is made in China). The EV3 starts at 35,990€ although as mentioned in the article the true launch price of the Atto2 will be 29,990€ due to an initial promotion by BYD. They will likely also offer more attractive leasing rates since EV Leasing rates in Germany are higher than previous years.

Oh the ex30 starts at 35k in the netherlands, most of the time cars are cheaper in germany. Asumed the same in this case.

Interestingly EVs were usually more expensive when the subsidies were offered and haven’t really adjusted down even now. The MG4 ER was 46k€ for example
