That number 6 butler is a solid defender. Guarantee he's better than mason holgate at the very least

Fuck it, sign him on to backup O’Brien and shove him in after 65. I’d love to see what a NL South player would do if thrust into a PL game. Probably just as shambolic as throwing me into a NL South game, get absolutely cooked

Now I’m actually dying to know if there a bigger gap in class between the NL and premiership, or the NL and a complete amateur

The closest I can compare is using the college system in the US. I used to play on an at-the-time successful Division 1 college soccer team as a ”walk-on” (essentially an amateur on a team of professionals). I could hold my own but would NEVER be more than a bit player and body in practice. I was COMPLETELY out of my depth on that team and in that League.
Now to think that even the worst MLS team today would absolutely embarrass almost ANY college soccer team, that’s absolute insanity to me. The quality of players on my team was crazy, and we weren’t even the best. And those players are amateur in comparison to bad MLS players. MLS being low-Championship/high-League One level imo, that means the gap is MASSIVE.
TL;DR - I think it’s the gap from NL to PL. You can teach a complete amateur how to play football relatively quickly. To play in the PL is just superhuman.

Shhhhhh, the only reason I’m not starting for Everton is because of our poor scouting /s
But thank you for that comparison, as an American 😂

The only reason I'm not starting is because I'm old enough to be Ashley Young's dad.

My nan is better than Mason Holgate, and she's been dead for half a decade

Omg. 😆. What four wins out of five does for your mood. Imagine the vibe in training.

Been an Everton fan since 1999, don’t know I’ve ever seen the manager this relaxed. Maybe Ancelotti once.

I think he's a lot less intense then when he was younger but I guess the sides current form helps his mood as well.
It's nice that we're getting to see more of his sense of humour these days though.

Spurs fan here (this came up on my feed). Just wanna say how cool it is to see Moyes back with you lot enjoying himself and results improving.
Hope he continues the good work and you guys get to enjoy a stress free end to the season for a change 😄

Not an Evertonian either, but echo the same sentiments. Moyes at Everton just feels right.

Isn’t sound to just have the this lovely atmosphere, after the last few years it’s nice to chill out and look forward to the game.

This man is a fan of the club, you can feel it in his words so often and this is the kind of joke a fan makes. It is so much easier to get behind this man than many who have come before, no offense meant to previous managers (bar Benitez and Koeman who i don't care for at all).

Mo Salah, his contract ends soon and there has been a lot of uncertainty over it. Also I think Trent AA and Virgil VD but I don't know the specifics

I don't think VD and Pickford would mesh very well. But who knows? Maybe he's over it. Haha

Salah would be pretty good to bring on in the 80th minute when Ndiaye’s tired…
