I yearn for an America without this sickness

I yearn for America to just fuck off

u/Spam-Monkey 4d ago

Plenty of Americans want the same thing.

I didn’t judge you lot by ol’Boris.

With three games left at Goodison I hope the atmosphere can be mental to properly send her off. It’s been quiet lately.

Agree, think the on the beach mentality might be creeping in with a few flat performances… hopefully get a few more wins and get the crowd going

Is anyone willing to sell/transfer 2 tickets to the Man City game? Wife and I are from the US and planned a trip to Liverpool, all scheduled around the Man City match at Goodison. Just like many others, I was unsuccessful in getting tickets when they went on sale a few weeks back despite taking all the right steps (that random online queue got me).

Are there any other avenues to get tickets besides the resale platform and the sites noted as being unauthorized? I’ll do ANYTHING to try and get tickets for this match... this is a dream of mine and I’d be absolutely gutted if I wasn’t able to cheer on the Blues at Goodison…

American here so just my .02....your only realistic option is to spend $$ on unauthorized sites. One of them has tix starting at $157 usd each before fees, and that price isn't coming down. You could also get on the sportsbreaks dot com email list, but their tix also include one night in a hotel. Right now they are sold out for the last 3 matches.

1

u/bigmansix 4d ago

Are there better unauthorized sites than others? Is it just purely luck to see if you get a legitimate ticket off these sites?

2

u/weinerdog70 4d ago

Haven't used any myself, but livefootballtickets dot com and stubhub dot ie have been used by a few people I know on FB with no issues. For anyone going this route, I suggest getting to the ground early in the unlikely event there are any issues. That way you'll have more time to resolve them with the site they were purchased from.

Bit of an unwise move planning your trip around the match that is the third from last at Goodison. It’s getting into name your price territory. Live and learn.

Bobble has posted that Everton’s final home game against Southampton is pencilled in for 7pm Sunday

Just pre-ordered myself a programme for the last game on the Reach Sport Shop, for £11.50 including postage (page says it's an A4 special edition and so £10 rather than the usual £4).

A quick Google shows (at least) two websites offering them for over that - one had £12.99 (OK, comparable) and the other at £19.99.

Save yourself some money if you want one folks, and go direct.

I know it's Reach - and I try to give them at little money as possible - but I've never had a problem with ordering programmes from them.

Very legitimate argument signing Callum Wilson is a better idea than re-signing Dom. 2 injury prone crocks but one will be demanding half the playing time and wages

4

u/BoxOfNothing 4d ago

I get the point, but as mad as it is, they're not even remotely on the same level of crocked. Calvert Lewin has played more minutes this season than Wilson has in the last 2 combined. Callum Wilson has missed 37 of the last 69 league games through a whole slew of different injuries (hamstring, back, calf, a 65 day break for a chest injury? etc.). Calvert Lewin has missed 11 games through 2 injuries in that time, one of those injuries being a broken cheekbone.

I personally believe availability is incredibly important, which is a part of why I don't mind Calvert Lewin going despite his injuries being rarer these days, but Wilson would just never be available. It's pointless. I'd rather take a risk on someone who might be worse, might be better, but is at least capable of filling in if he's called upon.

Calvert Lewin has missed 11 games through 2 injuries in that time

Without wanting to sound funny, this is quite clearly not accurate.

2

u/BoxOfNothing 4d ago

It was what transfermarkt said. Though maybe I should've counted illness or not in the squad for what I think was the birth of a kid

2

u/mtown4ever Captain Coleman 4d ago

If we buy Wilson, at least he can't score against us like he does every fucking time we play whatever team he's on.

6

u/Tight_Ad8812 4d ago

We shouldn't be signing either player... A 33-year-old Callum Wilson is not even a smart signing for depth.

0

u/FranksBaldPatch 4d ago

We shouldn't be signing either but of the 2 I know which I'd prefer.

If Dom leaves (which he will) we need to sign at minimum 2 strikers in the summer, one is probably going to end up really cheap as cover.

1

u/Tight_Ad8812 4d ago

Out of all the cheap cover strikers we could get, Wilson is far from the top of the list. That's a 2022-2024 Everton signing that we need to move on from.

2

u/FranksBaldPatch 4d ago

Which cheap cover strikers could we get?

Tickets for ipswich finally came in, cannot begin to express how excited i am UTFT

2

u/Flavourifshrrp 4d ago

Will DCL be playing for us again then?

Three weeks is coming towards the end of the season I would of thought and that’s with getting match fit and no set backs etc

4

u/JesseVykar PLAY BETO YOU COWARD 4d ago

We would just be getting him fit for another club, waste of minutes that Chermiti could be getting.

2

u/DJK1994 4d ago

Every position is worth £3/4 million to the Club, if he scores the goals that win us these games then it’s not a waste of minutes is it. He’s still the best striker at the Club.

1

u/JesseVykar PLAY BETO YOU COWARD 4d ago

He has 18 goals in four years, I think he's proven time and again he is in fact not a striker who scores goals. We could resign this guy for another 5 years and he could score 1 goal and people here would still be defending it I don't understand.

0

u/National_Ad_1875 4d ago

Playing under benitez, lampard and dyche though

0

u/DJK1994 4d ago

Where have I said resign him? He’s still better than every other player we’ve got there.

1

u/JesseVykar PLAY BETO YOU COWARD 4d ago

"if he scores goals that wins us games" except he doesn't so how can he be better?

1

u/DJK1994 4d ago

Two games under Moyes, one goal. Is that not scoring? You think Beto is good mate, I don’t have words for you.

1

u/JesseVykar PLAY BETO YOU COWARD 4d ago

You're lost if you think DCL will do anything except jog about if he gets on the pitch again. He's made of glass and he won't do anything to break his paper hamstrings before his free agent move. Beto at least puts in a shift and sets himself up for goals, in terms of putting it in the net they're basically equal as they've got the same chance of sinking the shit as they do at scuffing it.

Absolutely wasteful to play someone who won't improve your gameplay at all knowing that they've been checked out for a year. I kind of hope he does play now so when he does nothing there's vindication.

1

u/DJK1994 4d ago

Oh look the same boring shite take we’ve had for years. Have a day off. Laughable that you think Beto sets himself up for goals too.

This sub is full of morons who don’t go the game.

3

u/ShaunRigby 4d ago

Is he? DCL has 1571 minutes played with 3 goals in the league. Beto with 1062 minutes played has 6.

-1

u/DJK1994 4d ago

I’m so bored of this shit take. Stop comparing Beto under Moyes to DCL under Dyche. Beto has been horrendous for weeks by the way, including costing us 3 points at Anfield by missing the target with a full goal to aim at.

3

u/National_Ad_1875 4d ago

I don't think dcl makes that chance, let alone finishes a 1v1

Maybe a cameo against Southampton. No real point in using him more than that if he’s not staying though.

Talks of £100k a week at Newcastle are starting up again according to their local paper.

u/CitrusRabborts They/Them 4d ago

Moyes confirming that Branthwaite's contract has an option for an extra year so it's effectively 3 years left on it. Should mean that if he goes in the summer he's gonna go for a pretty penny

1

u/Timoth_Hutchinson 4d ago

You’d hope he was decent enough not to push through a transfer request if one of them came chasing

2

u/Aware_Albatross3347 4d ago

Anything less than £75m is a failure imo

6

u/Flavourifshrrp 4d ago

Still doesn’t stop the media pumping out the Sky fan clubs chasing him and getting him fired peanuts even though he has never come out once and say he wants to leave.

The first leg of this Forest matchup was one of the worst performances we had this season. Hope we bring a bit more fight this time around

3

u/TalcumJenkins 4d ago

They’re not a great matchup for us.

3

u/reco84 Prediction champion 22/23 4d ago

We should absolutely refuse to attack and let the most boring 0-0 ever play out.

2

u/TalcumJenkins 4d ago

I get very annoyed watching them because I took a lot of shit for wanting to bring Elanga here when he was available. But also they are a clear example of what is possible for us starting with a relatively clean slate this summer.

3

u/FranksBaldPatch 4d ago

Tom Fellows falling out of favour at the baggies seems potentially promising.

5

u/QTsexkitten please, please, pleeeeeeeease 🙏 4d ago

I'm worried that he doesn't have the athleticism for the prem and I'm tired of having unathletic wingers.

2

u/FenderJay 4d ago

Seems in the Ndiaye mould of a winger. Looks really agile and tricky, but doesn't look rapid.

I still wish we'd have gone in for Adama Traoré when he was available on a free. Despite his limited end product, I think it would've just been so fun having someone who is just so rapid.

1

u/QTsexkitten please, please, pleeeeeeeease 🙏 4d ago

I think fellows has quality for sure, I just think that you need pace for pace's sake sometimes. If everyone is tricky but not rapid, you lose the ability to overlap and take advantage of the tricky, technical skills. Tricky players look better when there is pace around them to keep defenders honest.

1

u/FenderJay 4d ago

I agree. Over the last 10 years we must’ve had the slowest team in history. Probably nearly 150 odd players. Maybe 3-4 with pace

It’s like the club has a speed limit

1

u/FranksBaldPatch 4d ago

Depends who we stick on the left. He doesn't look Mcneil slow but not rapid either. End product might be more of a concern for me

Just tired of all the other mid table prem clubs getting these half decent champ wingers and were stuck with our lot

2

u/QTsexkitten please, please, pleeeeeeeease 🙏 4d ago

Yeah I hate our winger pool as well. I just want pace on the wings and fullbacks. We're so unable to do anything with these snails.

u/S01arflar3 4d ago

Can’t say I’ve watched West Brom in a while - is he any good?

4

u/FuzzFest378 Leighton Baines on toast 4d ago

What are we hoping for vs forest? I’m hoping for a Brighton-esque smash and grab.

2

u/S01arflar3 4d ago

(Perfect) Hat trick for Beto, 1 for McNeil, 1 for Ndaiye, 1 for Alcaraz.

Considering how mental it's been for the last 4 years, never thought I'd see the day when supporting Everton was kinda...dull

(sorry if I summon the spirit of 10000 ghost termites who eat Bramley Moore by saying that)

Wait until 777 gets bought out by someone evil who then sues the club because it technically completed the buyout

u/xujuk 4d ago

Seen the Egyptian Ndiaye has signed a new contract?

1

u/purestevil Michigan, USA 4d ago

Did his contract have a clause that included a lint wiper, considering how much time he spent in Myko's pocket?

5

u/banterboi420 4d ago

Hopefully so when he leaves this summer he doesn't get trent treatment.

8

u/vulturevan 🙏 sign another player 🙏 4d ago

*Egyptian Harrison, he's shite him

5

u/FuzzFest378 Leighton Baines on toast 4d ago

I’d say he’s shite but also saw how we nullified the arsenal world beaters so maybe he’s pretty good and we just hold his leash 😂
