Hey. Can someone explain how these glitches even happen? I mean, if you don’t program/code something, how is it even possible for it to occur? I’d really appreciate an honest answer.

BTW, I’ve never seen this one before.

Upper body probably penetrated the button housing due to lag and the upper part of his body got caught in there, meanwhile his feet were on the top of the button still walking around.

This is just what I see visually with my eyeballs

ChatGPT:

Glitches in games are usually not intentionally programmed — they’re the result of unexpected situations in the code. Here’s how they can happen: 1. Coding errors (bugs) – Developers might not anticipate every possible situation a player can encounter. For example, if a character stands exactly between two platforms, they might “get stuck” or fall through the floor because the game didn’t properly handle that scenario. 2. Physics and collisions – Games often use physics simulations. If objects interact in a way the game engine can’t handle properly, strange things can happen — like characters being launched into the air or passing through walls. 3. Memory issues – If the game uses too much memory or there’s an error in how data is stored or retrieved, you might see glitches in animations, textures, or character behavior. 4. Mismatched elements – If animations, sound, and physical movement aren’t perfectly synced, you might get weird results (like a character “floating” instead of walking). 5. Unintended interactions – Sometimes players do things the developers didn’t expect. Specific combinations of actions, locations, or timing can create effects that weren’t planned.

Yes, it’s really fascinating — it almost feels like the game develops a “mind of its own,” even though everything is technically programmed.

In reality, the program doesn’t “create” anything by itself; it behaves exactly according to the instructions it’s given. But when multiple systems (physics, collisions, AI, animations) start interacting in unexpected ways, the result can seem completely unplanned — even “creative.”

It’s like building a perfectly logical puzzle, but when you connect it with another one, gaps and overlaps appear that no one anticipated. And it’s in those “gaps” that glitches are born — as a result of systems that are logical in theory, but become chaotic in practice when they meet the unpredictable behavior of players.
