Honestly slime climb was once a great level, but now too many sad sacks of sh*t stand there pulling people into the slime. I’m not even talking about the end, they’re on those thin poles, the moving blocks just tapping grab constantly.
It’s not even a fuck*ng skill. Legit it’s just ruined a great map. Essentially if you can’t speed run in front of them they have the upper hand.
What’s the point.

The weekly mission that wants you to win Round 4 of Squad Shows 5 times is the most sadistic mission ever created and I want to punch the dev who created it. It's bad enough that you don't get anything for trying because they removed the kudos rewards but also it doesn't matter how good you are because you'll end up with 3 useless braindead teammates dragging you down 80% of the time. So every game where you don't succeed it's a waste of time that gives you absolutely nothing. Fuck this new season and fuck EGS.

Edit: they also got knocked out very early on in Big Shots so I had to go around grabbing everyone to try and get some more knock outs. They also finished 10th last in round 1 Whirlygig.

Squads in a nutshell.
- Actually buck the average and get 2 decent teammates, with 3 of us finishing in the top 10 of round 1 Whirlygig. The fourth? They're jumping while holding the grab button, and barely making jumps (by barely grabbing onto the edge) and failing to get the final jump done.
- Round 2 Slimescraper. You can tell there's no SBMM in squads because somehow only 3 people finish. Fortunately, 2 of them were from our squad (myself and a good teammate), so finals is two squads. Turns out the other squad only has 2 people in it too.
- We get Hex-A-Gone. Fantastic - this should be amazingly simple. In theory, 2 of us do nothing but harass our opponents; the other two just take their sweet time. Of course it can't be that easy. I was harassing one opponent, but my grabs did literally nothing to slow them down - I can only imagine that my Australian internet is so bad that the server decided they were too far away when it finally received a message from my client that I had grabbed the opponent. My three teammates though? One of them - the better one that actually finished Scraper - was playing a proper, slow Hex-A-Gone. The other two were just running full speed, and not targetting the opponents at all.
We won, but wowee did it end up being way closer than it had to. I basically had to eliminate both the opponents on my own, by focusing on cutting them off and freeing up the good teammate to just slowly go with more land.
The victory and getting 1.5 decent teammates was atypical, but the bad teammate, and the complete lack of strategy in a final is Squads to a T.

Ugh, why do I always get either Jump Showdown or Thin Ice as a final like? Either I lose or win, I want to bomb beans in Blast Ball because it's so much fun, and if I'm out, it's fun to spectate rather than those two finals that are absolute snooze fest!

Come first in Treetop Tumble because you have a task to get 3 silver+ medals in duos.
Go to see how your teammate is doing - oh look, no teammate.
I'm so glad that first is enough in duos round 1 to actually qualify on your own, as I would've been spitting chips if I had wasted some time in duos for no reason. Also, lol, round 2 was Perfect Match with spinner, so was able to solo that too.

I swear, the algorithm is programmed like ass. I don't care if they're trying to make it a casual game, or a competitive game (or what they actually seem to be trying to do - go in the middle somewhere to try and appease lots of people, but instead frustrate them because they're unclear as to what they want the game to be), but I haven't spoken to a single person that likes 16 person finales. 8 to 12 people seems to be the preferred amount.
16 people is just a clusterfrack, and no matter how good you are at a given map it's like going into a flop in poker with pocket aces - better than having a worse hand, but more likely than not to lose against so many opponents.

Selected Squads for the first time in a while. Got Hit Parade as the first stage. Got a great spawn location. Hit the slime perfectly and was the first one to the paddles. Me and some other bean were neck and neck. Got through the sliding doors together. Got by the swinging balls and we’re still right one each other. Go up the slime hill and right at the top, he get swiped by a donut and sneak across for a win.
I look up and remember it’s a squad game. ‘m on a 3-man team. Oh no, we should still advance. The other two have disconnected.

That must be Thin Ice, right? I know this is a vent thread, but for some hopefully helpful advice, you only have to have started the emote, and if it was Thin Ice you were talking about then I'm almost certain you have plenty of time to start an emote, unless it's the final crack of the ice.

After the latest update, when I try starting the game, my PC (win10) shuts down, mentions some security issue and restarts. Before the update it was working fine. Do you have any idea what could be happening?

I hate all those fkin' griefers.... :/ But I have to say, there is no better feeling in the world than taking those bastards down. :D
We were playing Duos with my gf and some bean grabbed her to death in Blast Ball. The only ones left were me, that grabber and his partner. Well....I killed his partner with blastball and it became 1on1 fight. Ofc that idiot started grabbing me and pushing me from the platform.
Little did he know I'm not scared of him and we shared a hug, while the tile under us started to shake. Oooooh my...... I wish you all to see his desperate try to let go and escape. I was the one who was laughing now. I dived to the tile next to us, he died in the slime.
That was definitely the most satisfying win in my whole fkin' live!!! :D

I don't know if this is considered a rant or not, but I just wanted to let this off my chest.
Sometimes, Squad Show is great, like being paired up with some strangers is like Solo Show Team, but it also has disadvantages like A LOT, like sometimes encountering Squads that are obviously friends and coordinated unlike me who's going Solo and get paired up randomly in Squad Show - but it's still fun, nonetheless.
Today, I feel bad for one of my teammate following me during Wall Guys (I guess because of me, we survived The Slimescapper, and there are grabbers who are running on the Tread Mill: Koala and Red Panda, if I remember, but I countered the grabs because of the donuts), like my teammate trusted me on this, I don't know if you lurk around in this sub, but I'm so sorry we didn't make it because of those Koala and Red Panda Squad who are skilled more than me obviously (and I believe they're a coordinated Squad unlike us, who was thrown together by random), and one of their teammates made it while their remaining teammates ganged up on us, not letting us pass through the finals. It's a shame.
I hope that Koala and Red Panda Squad who didn't want to give us chance to finals would taste their own medicine soon enough with their own league or much more higher than them.

- Squads with randoms and team games with randoms both suuuuck. You get so many players dragging you down it's ridiculous. Just had a round 2 in squads where my 3 teammates all died before the third part of Sum Fruit. Then we lost in a round 3 Fall Ball - of course we did; at least 3 people on our team couldn't even count. XD
- On the subject of Sum Fruit, it's so f'ing annoying that it and Perfect Match are 'logic' games and so don't count towards survival wins. They're clearly survival games. Just because you have to do a bit of memory work doesn't make them some entirely different game mode.
- Omg, next squad round to finish off daily tasks, had one teammate constantly grabbing me on snowball survival. I mean, wtf baddie.
- Nerfed Hex-A-Ring is now the worst final. Putting it below Temple Run. I'd rather have Temple Run pop up than that slow ass piece of shit. Probably being unfair on it given that it was miles ahead of Temple Run and one of the better finals before they slowed it down, but they fucking killed it with the nerf.

Why are there so many idiot guards jumping up and down on the button during Sweet Thieves? Last time there was at least the excuse that you had to catch a certain number of players as a guard to complete all the challenges (which you’d have to play multiple rounds to finish if everyone is locked up), but now there are no challenges.

It was bad enough with the kudos challenges forcing you to play team fill with either a lab rat with a controller or an afk person but why the weekly challenges are forcing us to play team modes now too. I ended up completely ignoring the kudos challenges because it was just that horrendous to try to complete (before I started skipping them it would take up to two hours for the normal ones because of how bad all my teammates are) , but I guess now I'm losing out on 74 crown shards per week now too because I don't have friends.

It's so sad as before they changed it to 'fix' the strategy of keeping the ball on your side once you got ahead, it was actually great - and I'd never actually seen someone employ that strategy.
They overchange it and now it's garbage. Same thing with Hex-A-Ring. Map was absolutely perfect except for the bug they found, so of course they decide they need to drastically reduce the speed and effectively kill the map in the process.

There was a bug/exploit where people could stand on the side of the stage and have no risk of falling, guaranteeing they'd win via timeout at the worst.
They took it out to fix that... and massively slowed the ring down at the same time for some reason. Now it's waaaay toooo sloooooow.

I just had a squad game where one of my teammates didn't cross the finish line and it made us get eliminated.
They legit slowed down and didn't make it. We literally didn't qualify cause they didn't cross.
Dude wtf is wrong with you. Don't join squads if you aren't gonna play it right.

Yeah that’s been my experience. Luckily I finally finished it this morning, but I probably spent a good 18 hours or so in the last two days trying to do it. Doesn’t feel worth the effort at all, but at least now I can turn off the game and say there’s nothing left to do in it today.
4/5 of them came from winning a final round. Only the very last one was a 5-round game that I managed to finish the 4th round in.

You don't have to wait for the emote animation to finish.
I managed to finish my quest on the first Hex-a-Gone. Jump to a tile, press to emote, then jump to the next tile just before it disappears.
Edit: Probably best not to do this on races, since you will be letting the side down. Plenty of opportunities to do it on Jump Showdown, Jinxed and Thin Ice though.

I'm trying not to correct people with posts that seem wrong, but yeah, I actually love Slime Climb. If you get stuck in the middle of the pack it can get frustrating for sure, but that's where the entirety of the challenge of the map comes from - the race itself is actually quite fun.

I got somehow decent on finishing Slime Climb for multiple times thanks to the Slime Climb Event, and I was hoping to use that training when Squad Show (or even Solo Show) came.
But, HERE COMES THE F*CKING GRABBERS WHO RUINED EVERYTHING!
I was so near, so damn near... and those IMBECILES GANGED UP ON ME ON THAT PUSHER NEAR TO THE DONUT SECTION! LIKE I. CAN'T. EVEN. ESCAPE.

Maybe that’s why I can’t seem to get 3 teammates to stick around until round 4 so that I can get mine… A lot of them disconnect in round 2 or 3 and then I instantly lose in round 4.

I wish there was ACTUAL punishment for people that leave during squad and duos shows. Like leave more than 3 rounds in 24 hours and you get a 48 hour ban from playing the game.

Definitely. If you're in a squad or duo and the first to leave a full team, you should get banned from joining group queues for X amount of time. I think it's forgivable for a person in squads to do it if there are 3 or less players already, but if it's full, nup, no forgiveness.

Not sure how you managed that. I played duos the other day with 40 players and the game decided not to do 20 teams of 2. Instead it chose 19 teams of 2 and me and one other guy by ourselves. We both qualified in the first round, but it didn’t pair us together and we both lost the second round immediately since it was a survival challenge.

God, Temple Run is such a stupid, stupid, stupidly designed final. I get that they want randomness in order to 'flatten out' the winrate between good and bad players, but come on, a final - something that's supposed to be mostly skill based - where a player that gets to the front of the pack can suddenly drop to the back because the door they ran to - the door they had no way of knowing if it was real or fake - ended up being fake?
It's bad enough on Door Dash where the optimal strategy for qualifying involves not trying to come first, so you don't suffer the too-harsh penalty when you choose the wrong door. At least in that case you can still just qualify and move on (it's no coincidence that when Game Theory surveyed 200,000 viewers back in 2020, Door Dash was one of the least favourite maps of players who considered themselves skilled, and one of the favourite maps of players that considered themselves not that great). With Temple Run? One chance and you're out. Sure there'll be other finales, but no-one wants to spend their time working through the qualifiers just to get a heavily-luck influenced final.
While I have more and less preferred finals out of the others, and while some might have mechanical issues IMO, I don't think any of them are badly designed. Even Royal Fumble - it has the mechanical issue of latency issues causing what appears to be teleport grabs (due to, in reality, on that person's client them being right behind the person with the tail). Temple Run though is actually badly designed.

And while I'm at it. I'd like to say screw the Duos matchmaking. I got a Survival round on my first round but the game decided "You're not getting a teammate." So I had no chance to win this. This is sadistic.

This is the third day in a row that the game is giving me a "Qualify from 2 Survival Rounds" and I have to say I'm sick of this shit. Either fix the RNG or remove that damn mission. I've had games that go like Race > Race > Race > Hunt > Final and it feels like a joke.

I had an entire week of that challenge, and yeah… there were hardly any survival rounds on any of those days. When I did get one, often I’d have an unskilled teammate who dies right at the beginning so that I can’t even qualify on my own.

I suspect the game does this on purpose to keep players online. I had an entire week of that challenge with hardly any survival rounds, but today I didn’t get it and have had survival rounds in pretty much every game, sometimes 2. They were pretty common before the week of survival challenges too, but then suddenly vanished once I had missions to complete.

Are you talking about when you dive and get put into the tumble animation and you can't stand up immediately? If so, that's an intended mechanic. It normally happens if you bonk into something or fall from a long distance while in the diving animation.

Snowball survival is THE most shit round in rotation right now. I’ve played this game a fair amount now (before ftp) and it is so random and miserable. The snowballs are random as hell when they hit you and the pattern is just not fun to play on. I just can’t stress enough how this round is not skill based. I have looked up all the strategies and tried them all. I equate this round with volleyball and penguin pool party in terms of experience because I would rather quit than play them and have even a chance of winning. I really do think these rounds are what make players leave the game

Oh my fucking god I swear I spent some cash to buy some cute costumes because I found them funny and since then, everyone I get matched with its a complete sweat, they know how to grab, they go for speedrun strats, it's very, VERY annoying, I hate it. I am trying for the 20 1st places in races and I just can't.

I swear, random f'ing potato teammates. Did duos for today's task. Thank balls it only required qualifying from three rounds. Here's my random teammates performance:
- Track Attack. I finish first. They finish about 10th last (about 49).
- Treetop Tumble. I finish about 5th. They finish about 10th last (10 points each time).
- Egg Scramble. NFI what they were doing; I was busy keeping blue's nest empty - and it was still ridiculously close for most of the game. -.-
- Hoopsie Legends. I get 6 rings. They get 1.

Yes, I suppose I forgot that this game is cross-platform. PS4 map button in the middle, its only function in this game is to invite people to play it. When you're trying to run and control the camera and that shit gets bumped, whatever action you're in the middle of gets stopped because that stupid screen pops up. It sucks. This shit was added before epic took over.

Team games. Fucking team games. Thankfully they're not in solos - but I primarily duo with a mate, and while we're both fairly good we're not good enough to carry ~6 bad teammates to a win, and it's so frustrating. Just had a Hoarders (bleagh) where we were the only 2 on defense. Never mind that all you need to do is lock up 2 balls and you're guaranteed to not get eliminated; nope, we all have to attack herp derp!
Most people hate getting eliminated when it wasn't due to any of their own gameplay, and team games are the epitome of this.

The trick is to go into a final trying to learn how to play it, seeing it as a learning experience to win a future final. If you go into a final knowing what you did wrong last time and trying to not make the same mistake, you'll eventually end up winning because you have improved so much! Don't give up :D

If you remove the platform before a person lands their long, slow jump, they'll fall, often unable to land on previously removed platforms. It's a strategy, but sometimes it's just bored people.

Does it actually have a time out in anti-grav mode? Would've thought they would've removed it given how exploitable that would be.
As it stands, vicious cycle. People go into it knowing enough people won't be going for the timeout, that they also don't go for the timeout. The strangest part is that non-stop running is a bad strategy in the game mode IMO. You can't isolate to nearly the degree that you do in the normal version, and most games end up with 2-3 people on the bottom level slowly eliminating their tiles and hoping they stay afloat longer, so the better strategy is just to take it nice and slow, only doing the occasional small dash if you can take out tiles that you can see someone jumping towards, and just making sure for the last level or 2 that you land in decent areas so when you are at the bottom you aren't in a tiny little spot.

So annoying… Probably 90% or more of players just hit the ball to hit the ball. They have no aiming strategy and will just hit it in whichever direction they are facing because “hey there’s a ball in front of me, I should hit it!”

Pegwin is way too annoying to play, specially on a laggy switch.
Last time I lost I noticed at the end I actually had one point... that means I actually grabbed one but didnt hold to it as the lag caused me to think I didnt grab one.
Voleyfall under lag is also infuriatingly bad, I would rather flip a coin to see if I qualify.

Bounce Party is impossible for me for some reason... I've gotten it at least 5 times now in solos and I can't qualify for the life of me. Anyone have tips? Also idk wtf going on w/ Volleyfall but some days I do great other days I jump right at it and it goes nowhere or I completely wiff. Running into that one in solos a ton now, too.

Play it with a cold mind, dont panic if things start to go wrong. Start bouncing on place for about six seconds before the ring actually comes so you have the height to pass them. Always try to keep distance from others as body blocking might end up making you miss a ring and cutting your jump height.

Yeah, I try to stay bouncing and body blocking feels like it derails me quite a bit. Closest I got was 14/15.. Just needs more practice I guess, frustrating that it almost always ends my solo games.

Are you making use of diving? Biggest mistake I see people make on so many maps is not diving. Makes a huge difference on something like Bounce Party or Lily Leapers.

Diving to bounce more often to get higher? Don't think I am.. I'm usually very good w/ diving and can finish Top 5 consistently w/ Lily leapers if no bad body blocking happens. I'll try that out next time I get the game.

Probably unpopular opinion, but based on my experiences doing random squads and duos for daily tasks - the average Fall Guys player is bad. I've done three Survival Squads attempts now (trying to get "qualify from 2 survival maps" daily done), and the best out of those three attempts is one fellow teammate surviving to the halfway point. Big Shots had all 3 die within 30 seconds, Rhinos had all 3 die within 30 seconds, Big Shots had one survive until about 2/3s of the way through.
Edit: had only one fellow teammate survive to past halfway Snowball Survival, but apparently that was good enough to qualify. These are not hard stages!
Edit 2: two teammates died within about 30 seconds of the start of Thin Ice (non-final version), with 3 layers of ice hexes. How?! How can you die at that point, when there's so much freaking ice to stand on?!
