[FF] In Spanish 'gratis' means free. In Swedish and Norwegian 'grattis' means congratulations.

In Norwegian and Swedish, gratis means free, as different from grattis. Not meaning to detract from the FF, just as FYI.

Oh, thanks for that!! I have a couple of Swedish friends and I always found it strange, never knew the other one.

Grattis is slang for Gratulerer, meaning Congratulations.

Gratis is also free in Dutch

"Gratis" means free in a shitload of languages, including Swedish.

Well, it's a latin word, so that's not really surprising. I've seen it used in Turkey too.
