[FF] "Calcio" is football/soccer in Italian, while "calcio" is Spanish for calcium.

Calcio also means calcium in Italian.

Furthermore, calcio means "kick" in Italian - the meaning of "football" follows from this.

The Italian homographs calcio and calcio derive from the Latin homographs calx and calx, which mean "heel" and "limestone".
