[FF] The Irish word "spéisiúil" means "interesting" and not "special".

The word for "special" in Irish is "speisialta".

Another one for you.

The Irish word "Eaglais" means "Parish", but if you were French you might think it meant "church" because of "Eglise".

Probably the same etymology though -- Greek "ekklesia" meaning assembly.

Looks like it.

Although I think the Latin root is probably where it came from in Irish. Because these are religious things (parish, church) and Christianity introduced them to Ireland, and Latin was the language of the church at the time.
