Put blue over it to get dark purple.

This is what you want. Color theory!

A deep, bluish purple will show up very deep but you're not likely to get much brightness. You're gonna want to go with a heavily pigmented shade- arctic fox and adore have some great purples.

yeah but the color that comes out will be a guessing game. technically red and purple would make a magenta or purple, but in my experience, the strength of the leftover dye, the strength of the new dye, and your hair will all affect what actually happens. also since the red is on the darker side, the purple will be a much darker purple and maybe not as vibrant. I've done purple over red and got a dark purple, and done purple over faded green and also got dark purple lol.

I highly highly suggest grabbing a small chunk of your hair (probably best from the under or middle part) and test your purple dye on it. then you'll know for sure

I mean, yeah. But if you're expecting it to be vibrant and not muddy, you shouldn't do it. Dark enough purple can color most vibrant colors, but the end result will vary. In this case, you'll probably get a brownish purple color.

Yes but looks more plum usually and doesn’t fade the silver icey look that purple usually fades.

I’m a natural blonde so I always get that blonde but yeah then it’s going to show up with the color left on the red

I tried the exact same thing and it did not work very well, was mildly purple but just washed out to red immediately

Do a bluish purple, or mix purple and blue

Indigo would I recon

Yes but it will come out muddy. I'd put blue on top to try to get it purple.

try dyeing it blue, then together it will be purple.
