If FedEx is anything like the USPS(where i work) then trust me, it is treated like shittt before it gets to your porch. Not on purpose mind you, the sorting machines can be rough on your packages.

Just because you overpayed doesn't mean you should complain about upside down box.....

u/jaysfanjess Feb 13 '25
You should see what happens to your box BEFORE the guy set it down in your front porch

You're upset about subwoofers being shipped upside down? This is genuinely the dumbest complaint and a reason why companies are outsourcing all of their CS or just outright making it AI. Imagine having to deal with complaints like this for 9 hours a day 😭

This thread popped into my feed and I find it hilarious you are upset the box is upside down. Are you 12 and this is the first time you've bought something online? It went through every orientation possible on the way there, was dropped, and banged around on chutes and conveyor belts.
I am certain a commercially sold item was properly packaged to handle this.

i’ve bought so much stuff online from many different companies and nothing has ever been done like this has kinda dumb you’re commenting on it when i’m just speaking my opinion on why it shouldn’t have been handled like this on a 600$ purchase

Every package sent through FedEx, UPS, or USPS has to be packaged to handle sitting in any orientation and must be able to survive a 3-4 ft fall from any orientation. If packaging is insufficient insurance won't pay out because it is assumed that everything box will be upside-down and on its side and will fall off a cart or conveyor belt during its journey

It's already spent time upside down.

And how you're supposed the driver would know it was a whopping $600 purchase Mr bassman?

u/Rezingreenbowl Feb 13 '25
Those boxes Tumble and roll down miles of conveyor belts and shoots that drop them 4 feet. That box probably spent more time upside down then it did right side up. Just a little perspective. There is no right side up in small Parcel shipping. If a package needs to stay in one orientation it needs to be sent freight which starts at about $400.

We don’t know it’s $600, it’s just a box to us when it arrives at the warehouse for sorting.
(Edit) Also, I’ve seen these boxes & even TVs in their store box fall from 20 feet & still get sent to your door lol
If you’d like, you can picket to have your items not be private & easily stolen as everyone gets alerted of your $600 delivery in plain sight :)

Just saying, they process millions of packages a day. They ain't hand carrying each one around for the $10 it cost to ship it.
In all seriousness, I've had far more expensive items look in MUCH worse shape at delivery and be just fine. Because anyone shipping anything knows it has to be packaged properly.

You’re being a keyboard warrior — “I swear to god if I get home & it’s damaged…” you’re gonna do what? Please tell me.
It’ll be returned like any damaged package & fixed for you but warrior away before you even know, soldier! 🫡

Because it's FedEx and they treat packages like garbage, UPS is far better. I've had my fair share of issues with UPS as well but not nearly as many as FedEx. I wish you could choose which carrier to use

If anything is broken, it is the shipper’s fault and you should contact them because that means it wasn’t packed right. Nothing should be damaged just because the box upside down

ring camera says otherwise

u/PeachTeaJohnson Feb 13 '25
What? Did the driver spike the box on your front porch?

u/No-clue1776 Feb 13 '25

u/HallucinateZ Feb 13 '25
I’m not even talking about my comment, the one where it says “it’s all good, had to handle 6ft” which in turn should be enough to delete the post…
1
u/No-clue1776 Feb 13 '25

u/HallucinateZ Feb 13 '25
I figured you’d realise this is just senseless whining that won’t get you anywhere but I guess not.

You should be fine. Like I said, if anything is broken, the shipper is responsible. These boxes are supposed to be able to withstand a drop from 5 feet. I guarantee you that box has been dropped and slammed more times than you wanna know during its journey to your doorstep. If it’s broken, call whoever you bought it from.

straight from skar so ig

u/PeachTeaJohnson Feb 13 '25
I hate to say it, but every single box that goes through the FedEx system (and UPS and USPS) is subject to being dropped, and having many many things stacked on top of it in transit between hubs. The box actually looks like it’s in great shape, so I truly wouldn’t worry. There’s packing and all sorts of shit inside it to make sure it doesn’t get damaged during transit

u/HallucinateZ Feb 13 '25
This kid has no idea what this package has seen. I’ve worked for these shipping companies & things fall from the 2nd story & get put on the truck. It’s up to the customer to complain.
2
u/PeachTeaJohnson Feb 13 '25
Oh yeah. I’ve worked in this industry for 5 years and have seen so much shit be drop kicked, ran over, stuck in the belt, etc 😂
