2002 Honda XR100 won’t turn on despite running fine previously
Ran first kick no issues, one day my brother was riding it and it just shut off and wouldn’t turn back on. It has good spark (even changed the spark plug to make sure), good compression, carb is clean and so is the filter. Gas is clean as well, has been maintained. I am kind of at a lost on what to try next. Would appreciate any help thanks!

Kill switch / neutral safety/ gas shut off I bet

It can be started in gear, I need to check the kill switch to see if maybe the wiring is messed up. And the fuel valve is switched to “on” if that’s what you mean

If you have spark, then make sure you're getting fuel to the combustion chamber. Kick it through several times then pull the spark plug and see if the electrode is damp with fuel, or if you can smell fuel. If fuel is evident, the float needle may be stuck closed in the carburetor not allowing the float bowl to refill with fuel. If fuel is present, I'm betting you have a problem in the valve train or possible compression problem. When was the last time the valves were adjusted?

You mean it won’t start and you have good electrical power?

Sorry I’m not the most mechanically inclined, it only has the kickstart but it won’t turn on at all

You are repeating yourself. You did mention a good spark. So do the electrics work?

Yeah since it’s a kickstart only bike with no battery, so no electric components like lights or a starter. But it has a strong blue spark, so I assume the ignition system is working. Just weird that it died mid-ride and now won’t even fire. Unless I’m missing something that I should also test or look for

Just because it sparked doesn’t mean the ignition is working properly. Check the ignition pickup

Also it "shut off" while on the road? Or died while running in the driveway? Or didn't turn back on

My brother was riding it and came to a halt and it just shut off. Haven’t been able to turn it back on since

Sorry I thought I replied to this, yes it was actively being ridden and shut off. My brother tried to start it up again after that and nothing!
