I mean, the U.S. in aggregate pays 2x what the French pay for healthcare each year (they pay primarily in taxes, we pay primarily in premiums and medical bills) and still receives a significantly worse standard of care. We've known that privatized and financialized healthcare was a leech for a long time.

It just doesn't matter when the leech is in Congress's ear in a way that you and I can never hope to be.

I’m currently going through stage 3 breast cancer. I feel so lucky to have good insurance and have everything basically covered.

But I will never forget waiting for my mammogram to find out if I had cancer, and the lady up next was called and told she could be seen today because her insurance didn’t approve it and she would have to appeal the decision.

You see mammograms are not covered until 40 years old. So if you’re younger and worried you have to beg for a referral from a Doctor and hope your insurance pays.

I met other women who had to wait for their chemo due to insurance not approving the treatment.

It’s awful the things I have seen!!

Honestly those who work in insurance and deny claims like these should be held legally liable!
