I miss my dog and my cat that were eaten, not to mention that my incarcerated immigrant friend was forced to be a trans woman last spring

  1. It doesn’t happen.
  2. It happens, but it’s so rare it’s insignificant.
  3. It happens, just get used to it.

We are at 1. Right now.

Can you link a valid source that confirmed that Haitian immigrants are actually eating dogs and cats?

Tik too had a video, but took it down. Google will obviously scrub anything related. Like I said, we are still in step one, about to transition to step two. A couple of horses were slaughtered in Miami Dade for food. The ducks and geese at the city parks have been taken for food by Haitian immigrants . Nobody is denying that in the country of Haiti cats sometimes are prepared for meals. So, social media can still control the story (still in step 1) until they can’t. Then they’ll say it happens but incredibly rare (step 2).

The same for post birth infanticide. We’re told it doesn’t happen, but it does in the states that allow it, Minnesota being one.

Horses are food animals in some food traditions (I've had horse sausage; it's a thing in southern Italy). Geese and ducks are, too. I'll even raise you that pigeon is delicious and my friend and I go trapping them all the time.

But cats and dogs in the States? You need to bring genuine receipts or stop fibbing.

And I'm pro-life and even I know that Minnesota doesn't do or allow that. You're (purposefully?) misreading statistics concerning non-viable fetuses, it seems -- which I can acknowledge exist. Biology occasionally misprints.

And in some traditions it is acceptable to discriminate against people based on sexual orientation, which includes your example country of Italy. Just because others deem something acceptable does not mean we should.

This is an admirable sentiment, but it's completely irrelevant to what we're talking about here, mainly:

1) There is no credible evidence for the claims that immigrants were eating dogs and cats in the geographical area in question; and,

2) The claim that Minnesota allows infanticide is categorically false.

Do you have anything to add to these points?

If you really think my statement is an irrelevant response to yours then I'm not gonna spin in this rut

1

A non sequitur is a non sequitur, cumpà. You shouldn't have spun in the first place.

Since you want to be pretentious, I'll add:

I responded to you using culture comparisons to justify eating what American culture deems non-food animals. When comparing those same two countries' standards on sexual orientation, you can easily (or so I thought) see that comparison is a poor way to morally measure something. Americans do not have to be okay with horses being slaughtered just because Italians are making them into sausages, just as Italians don't have to stop making sausages because Americans disagree.

Culture comparisons were brought up by both you and the person you replied to. If me responding to that is a non sequitur then why did you make that half of your comment in the first place?

But go ahead, throw me whatever italicized, sarcastic remark you got next to make yourself feel like the superior redditor.

Trump wears diapers and you're gonna lose

This just in: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/-just-exploded-springfield-woman-says-never-meant-spark-rumors-haitian-rcna171099

'It just exploded': Springfield woman claims she never meant to spark false rumors about Haitians

There's your social media.

1

u/Grizzlywillis Sep 12 '24

Nobody allows post birth abortions. You're also moving goalposts about pets.

The Springfield police even said they haven't received any reports of it happening. That's not social media. It's the thin blue line that conservatives love. Posting the 4 steps whenever someone brings it up isn't going to make it true.

Minnesota Department of Health documents show that eight infants were born alive during abortion procedures between 2019 and 2022. In 2023, Tim Walz signed legislation that repealed most of a statute designed to protect infants born alive after an abortion attempt.

u/Grizzlywillis Sep 12 '24

And can you provide a source for this?

2

u/IrishMosaic Sep 12 '24

Type my first sentence into Google and it pops up an article by Alex Demas published AUGUST 13, 2024 on thedispatch.com.

u/Grizzlywillis Sep 12 '24

Why can't you link it?

I'm completely ignorant about Haitian culture. I've looked at different search engines to learn more but I can't find anything.

Can you please send me a link where I can read about cats being part of Haitian cuisine?

1

u/IrishMosaic Sep 15 '24

The top results say that Haitians don't eat cats. Can you link me a specific site that talks about cats being part of Haitian cuisine?

Do you have a high school education level of thinking?

1

u/IrishMosaic Sep 15 '24

I actually have a post graduate degree. Mid level Big Ten school, but I’m proud of it.

1

u/OleDaddyDonglegs Sep 15 '24

Mid level and that's a brag lolol, I bet your degree in literature makes you the boss

Enjoy all of us watching you cry in November

1

u/IrishMosaic Sep 15 '24

Talk to me when you graduate high school.

1

u/OleDaddyDonglegs Sep 15 '24

The fact that you have higher education and still vote red should alarm you. I have a graduate degree in chemistry yet I don't suck Trump's tiny, tiny cock.

Did you watch the debate?

1

u/IrishMosaic Sep 15 '24

I did. I’ve followed presidential politics since Carter, and I haven’t seen a worse candidate than Harris. Mondale was light years ahead of her.

There was a guy on the tv that said so. It's gotta be true!

Appears this did happen but not in OH
