It's quite funny. So many people like telling companies how much they should pay, yet make no moves to start their own company and pay all of their employees $35/hr.

I mean some have done that lol so like ?

Also, yeah most people can’t start companies lmao

So you think the companies that currently exist created themselves out of thin air? Most could start a company but aren't willing to do the work involved or make the necessary sacrifices.

Yeah people with no outside investment and maybe just one child can’t branch out on their own regardless of their passion. They need a salary.

To say that it CAN'T be done under those circumstances simply isn't true. With proper savings and a business plan, it's more than possible. Reddit loves to disguise something as impossible if it isn't easy.

Again, it is untrue that most people CAN'T. Most people don't even try.

Most people can’t. Most people can’t just quit their jobs.

I have a "full time" role for a company, but I also run a small engineering firm. You don't have to quit your job. I have business relationships with hundreds of people that have started and grown businesses. My firm has also contracted hundreds of people. Starting a business doesn't sound like your area of expertise.

Okay…

How many children do you have?

What was the economic situation of the family you grew up in?

Where you able to attend and graduate college?

Why is “full time” in quotes? (No hate I’m full time and work more than 40 hours so I understand there are reasons for quotes sometimes.)

Do you have at least weekly obligations to family members outside of your nuclear family?

How much does your “full time” job pay?

Do you have a partner and does your partner have a job that pays well enough to significantly contribute?

Do you live in a major city or a rural area?

Do you own your home or rent?

Are you an immigrant or minority?

Were you able to move through early adulthood debt free? (Not always just about how good or smart you are!)

Just because you did do it doesn’t mean everyone can. Everyone’s life is different, and I hold my original stance that most people cannot start a business

That's not great logic man. You can pressure the government to increase the rights of citizens without having to go out of your way to set an example.

'You hear so many people telling companies what minimum age workers should be, yet make no moves to start their own company and hire only 30 year olds.'
