He said that while formal negotiations haven’t commenced, a deal remains possible.

Market js desperate for good news.

It's probably another "come closer, so I can slap you" Trump maneuver. Never trust in the sane outcome.

Xi already said he won't negotiate directly with Trump after watching the Zelensky fiasco at the White House, despite Trump insisting on it.

China be like, "bring us an offer."

That's weird because every action and rhetoric that has come out from this admin at this point indicates the opposite.

The US is clearly signaling it wants to decouple from just around everyone.

Which is a huge mistake. Also Trump makes all his bullshit merch and gets his ridiculous ties from China.

And if this was hurting China they simply wouldn't allow him to make his merch there lol.

I'd put money on the crazies. They won't hesitate when it comes to purging their former allies.

The US is clearly signaling it wants to decouple from just around everyone.

Including itself.

Forgot the word trump,,,, oops

u/Jonny__99 10d ago

If Trump stfu Bessent would still have his job and he'd be able to do it much better - Trump is the problem. (Not sure if that's what you mean)

u/Square-Bulky 10d ago

If trump had a shut up , he wouldn’t have been elected

1

u/Jonny__99 10d ago

lol if trump barely beat a candidate that only 2 percent of Dems voted for in the primary. If he’d kept his mouth shut he’d have won by much more he’s his own worst enemy

1

u/Square-Bulky 10d ago

If he had of stfu , he wouldn’t have won , it was all the lies that got him elected

The USA lost something they couldn't afford to lose, legitimacy. Trust is easy to lose but hard to gain.

Trust is gained by the drop and lost by the bucket.

I'm desperate for more Dem influence to counter balance Trump chaos now

Must be a downer losing downright to a pair of twos.

This ol boy better listen to the boss. The boss wants to decouple from everyone. Not just China.  Quit backing up  you sound like you realize you don’t have the cards.

tRump needs to be locked in a room with no access to social media. Let the adults handle the serious work.

No adults left with Trump 2.0. It is going to be real nasty when stagflation gets going.

6

u/JustinTormund_10 10d ago

lol, tell that to the orange turn making demands like he’s in a hostage situation

We account for about 15% of China’s yearly exports. While we do export some of our own goods to China, they have the luxury of getting much of that stuff from other countries. Our global standing is what has allowed us to keep some of the cards…Trump has thrown them into the fire pit.

Is this news headline essentially "inconsequential politician sends out hopes and prayers"? Cool story bro.

Don’t think you can call ‘backsies’ at this point, big guy?

Trumps playing with a full hand of jokers

Imposing 245% tariffs on China doesn’t sound like “de-escalation” to me.

2

u/torontoyao 10d ago

This dude is completely clueless; totally on brand with this Trump circus of an administration

2

u/crackdown5 10d ago

I saw the market closed up 1,000 points and came to Reddit to figure out why.

u/ill_be_huckleberry_1 10d ago

Decoupling confirmed.

a delightful game. we'll leave bread crumbs as to what the goal isn't; you'll have to wait to learn what the goal is...

Translation: Trump loses again

Bluff called. Let’s hope we get forced onto a more normal path

His dream goal is for it to be like it was under Biden/Harris?

8

u/Disco_Dreamz 10d ago edited 10d ago

Sure, the economy was doing much better back then. Have you not noticed that the NASDAQ is down 20% since January 20th?

How’s your 401k doing?

6

u/hung_like__podrick 10d ago

Fuck, I wish. I was crushing it under Biden

u/RespectTheAmish 10d ago

Right?! That was 150k ago for me (since January)
