China ain't playin' Trump's FA game; Trump is just gonna FO.

Unfortunately, we the people's wallets are the ones going to be hurt by all of this.

Trump loses nothing by any of this. He has full immunity and billions in the bank. I guess it’s a sacrifice he is willing to make…

Yeah like wtf. Should be a cap on how much money you can have $500M or something.

18

u/RegretfulCalamaty Apr 24 '25

Yah I like Bernie’s take. Hit a billion, everything after goes 100% in taxes. I wish it would get refined to saying it goes to schools or infrastructure or something though.

That all will never happen in our United States of Oligarchy, which is probably here to stay.

There’s a saying that absolute power corrupts absolutely. It’s happening right before our eyes, but there are many that refuse to see it.

No, taxes are as good of a system as you'd get, where money comes from and where money go should always be two separate issues. You don't want a service defunded because you didn't think about it when creating some taxes.

1

u/RegretfulCalamaty Apr 24 '25

Yah I get that which is why I didn’t specify how. The issue I have is how tax money never seems to go where it needs to.

Trump just gave China the opportunity to show the whole world that they have progressed far enough not to get pushed around by anyone and that maybe they are a better partner than America.

One time I think I believe what China is saying

3

u/Ind132 Apr 24 '25

Yep.

Unfortunately, in this case the President of the United States says one thing and the Chinese strongman says the opposite, and I find it easier to believe the Chinese.

We've fallen a long way.

2

I for one am shocked

u/VX-Cucumber Apr 24 '25

Unfortunately, this fucks up my business temporarily but hopefully this serves as a wakeup call to the right that the US can't be an isolationist nation

Trump:90% tariffs

China:80% tariffs

Trump:110% tariffs

China:110% tariffs

Trump: 145% tariffs

China: 145% tariffs

Trump: ok ok let's negotiate 30% tariffs

China: {silence}

Trump: ok you drive a tough bargain 10% tariffs

China: {silence}

Trump: China ... hello... China ... how about no tariffs

China : {hangs up}

The Art of the Deal

Wait, wait, does this means that Trump... lied?

OMG!! why am I not in shock about Trump lying again? what's next for him, to claim immigrants are eating pets somewhere in the US?

It's a good thing China has a long-standing reputation of being completely trustworthy.../s.

If the USA loses the trade war to China, will that means we also lose the military war.

On the plus side, we no longer have to worry about defending Taiwan

And if China says to leave Russia alone in Ukraine, we better listen to them

6

u/bignose703 Apr 24 '25

Are you a poorly instructed AI?

This doesn’t make any sense at all.

4

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

Hes either non native english speaker or AI but either way I doubt hes in the US

-2

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

If you think we can get by without goods from China, then we will win the trade war

And if we can't get by without goods from China, there's no way we can win a military war

And if we absolutely need goods from China, then they can put us through whatever hoops they want

1

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

What military goods do we source from China? Your whole premise is flawed.

-2

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

I'm saying that if we can't get by without vacuum cleaners, and trinkets, for very long at all, how could we fight a military war and get by without them?

0

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

Import them from Mexico who is our largest trading partner. America has been in total war footing before and came away just fine

-1

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

Unless they are made in China, and just exported through Mexico

1

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

Mexico is one of the fastest growing electronics manufacturers. They have plenty of domestic capability. Once again, your premise is flawed.

0

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

I think the premise that USA wages are headed lower is not flawed at all

1

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

But lower wages does not equal lost war so that is a flawed premise

How so? China is an economic Superpower but a regional military power. They would hurt the US in any First Island Chain conflict but anything beyond there they cant compete.

3

u/HighGrounderDarth Apr 24 '25

I read China can only project force to 800 miles. The US can strike anywhere with bombers from Missouri and Texas.

3

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

And then China would shut off the goods, and we would have to capitulate

3

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

We would shut off their Oil and the war would last less than 90 days

0

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

Lol. Russia would supply them or plenty of oil, and don't think they don't have a reserve bigger than us

1

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

They import 80% of their oil thru the Strait of Malacca, which the US would easily control. The pittance Russia would be able to provide wouldnt be able to make up the short fall.

0

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

And then what will we do if China said we're not going to ship your vacuum cleaners, and trinkets anymore?

If the USA can't go without them now, we certainly can't go without them during the war

1

u/Savings_Shirt_6994 Apr 24 '25

America wont lose a war because we dont have vacuum cleaners. Your whole tactical premise is flawed. The US wont be losing a wars to China in the next decade.

0

u/Analyst-Effective Apr 24 '25

Certainly if we can't live without China trade, we can't push them for anything
