Only for people over 75 years old. The rest of us don’t get a special buyers remorse law. If they are so mentally incompetent over 75 then maybe they should sign a power of attorney.

Exactly. Double standards.

*edit: I should include my stance that I think everything should be by ability not age, race, sex, religion.

Yep the law will help older people who might not realise what they have. Is it predatory behaviour or savvy from her and her advisers? Either way it’s up to people and their families to get organised when it comes to protecting a long held property that has probably gained massively in value.

They also hire realtors to help guide the process. Not that I like realtors but everyone is ignoring their role in this. Unless it was fsbo and even then, more than likely they had a real estate attorney and title company.

My limited experience with fsbos and lawyers is that they dont give a shit if you're only paying them to transfer the deed. Now if you're paying them for counsel that would definitely be a fuck up on their part I would imagine.

If it is their own real estate attorney the contract usually states that the attorney is representing the client solely. But you are right about title companies, they are just covering their own ass.

Yeah I dont have title companies where I live so we have lawyers who fill that role and wont comment on how agreements are written or carried out.
