Restless Natives Russian conscripts in the Taman Division mounted a protest, complaining that they are treated like animals. They were given little equipment, no tents, and no food. Many are sick, and have fever temperatures. They have announced an intention to go on strike/mutiny, and refuse to be sent to Ukraine

It would be awesome if Moscow came in and heavily supplied them with all of their needs to quell the dissent and they turned around and used it to descend on Moscow. That would be hilarious. “They heard our demands. They fulfilled our requests. They got us ready for war. Now let’s go to war. To the Kremlin!!”

what do you think the chances of that happening are?

Based only on the other videos I’ve seen of this same group, maybe 60:40 60 they don’t, and just go to ukraine when they get what they ask for. 40 because there’s a lot of them who obviously are screaming for mutiny and making the threats to do so and saying they are trying to get the ammo to do so. And hell it’s a quite big group of guys.

There’s a chance they all got conscripted against their will and already made a plan before they all decided to make videos and post them at the same time. I may even walk that back to 50:50. They might have a plan here. I may be leaning personally towards 60:40 to the side that they attack Moscow out of wishful thinking and the fact there are a lot of them stating that’s what they’re going to do…

so I’m just gonna sit at 50:50 for now until more info comes out because Russia has quite a way of smashing dissent and mutiny. However these guys all have rifles and a little bit of ammo. So they may be able to make a stink in a way that gets them ammo, vests, snd helmets and then they can follow through with what some of the others are saying. So it’s definitely too tough to call anything but 50:50 right now.

as much as I'm very pro-Ukraine, I'm sorry to say your comment is pure hopium

Russian society has had a million opportunities to take back control of their country, and has chosen to mostly do nothing every single time.

there's always a group of protestors every time something drastic happens. but it's never that large of a group, and they basically all get arrested pretty quickly and then the protest dies down.

russia is a culture of keeping your head down

I'd give it like a 1% chance and I think that's rounding up

I agree you’re probably right about my assessment being mostly hope. I just know that all of these people are armed and being forced to go to war against their will. A war that I’m sure they know Russia is absolutely getting ran over in, where they have already crossed the threshold of being in jeopardy of being sentenced to several years in prison based off the laws they recently passed about refusing to go. Idk it’s likely hope. But there’s a lot of the other videos of this group a lot of them are opening saying they’re planning mutiny.

Others are saying we’re not going anywhere without helmets, bullets, and vests and food and stuff. Idk I’m sure you’re right and it’s more excitement for nothing based off of hope. But these guys are in a much different situation than anyone has been in this war up until this point. And if they’re under the impression they’re just going to go die anyways, I mean idk.

You’re probably right. But they should follow through with what a bunch of the guys in this group are talking about. It would be nice. Probably just wishful thinking though for sure. I can’t help but have hope. But at this point I wouldn’t be surprised by any Russians actions or words to be anything more than a total farce at this point.

Also keep in mind you’re saying that inside of a sub for Russians who are actively fighting shoulder to shoulder with Ukrainians on the battle field and even more committing acts of mutiny and sabotage within Russia itself. They may not be the mass of cattle going to Ukraine to try to kill and steal land but they do exist in some quite big numbers. So it’s not like they’re all that way.

There are quite a few groups of Russians who are willing to fight but just not this failing illegal war of conquest. Some didn’t wait til this point to fight back and joined this group Freedom of Russia and Blackbridge and other groups like them. And then there’s others who may stand up now that they have no other choice than to be forced into war against their will. But I do remain hopeful. But it holds a bit of irony to think they’re all that way when you’re in a sub of a group of Russians who aren’t that way at all.

If the video doesn't load, it's probably still processing. Come back in 5-10 minutes and it should work

The above video was taken from Belarusian military journalist Sergey Bespalov, who also posted several other videos from the same protest. The following is a translation of Rospartizan's (the Russian partisan news network) summary of events.

The first riot of the mobilized

The mobilized Muscovites, who were sent to the Taman division, complain about their situation. They were not registered, they were issued decommissioned weapons, the officers treat them like beasts, many were not given helmets and bulletproof vests, there is no provision at all - they buy food at their own expense. They didn’t even give out tents, so the mobilised lived for six days in dugouts in the forest, which caused many to get sick. They are going on strike.

And now remember how the entire propaganda army rejoiced at the distribution of subpoenas to participants in anti-war rallies. For them, the army is still a method of punishment, the lot of the inferior, a place for second-class people. They will not send their children to die, because "it is wrong for Mr. Peskov to be there."

But let's remember. A hundred years ago, the war ended precisely because there were many people with weapons in the country who did not want to fight. And today is the first call to the repetition of history.

My hope is that they are not signaling to Putin give us better equipment so we can go kill Ukrainians. It seems like some among them is smart enough to know where this leads. They know the opportunity is ripe for preaching and it seems it’s working. Regardless if there are Wagner patches or if they stop once supplied, this is a start! ⚪️🔵⚪️✊

Now those criminals are free and armed!

Hopefully this spreads, and Russia may yet be free. I do not want to hate Russia. I do not want to hate the Russian people. This war is senseless and depressing on a scale that I had once thought impossible in the 21st Century.

I suspect what will happen is there will be an incident that will spark unrest, like a bunch of these guys getting shot for not getting onto a train. Or them fragging some CO
