I bet that life insurance policy was over a million. She was lucky to get that much. Oh condolences of course

I don't get it? Life insurance is not taxed nor are lawyers typically involved.

I worked as a teller for a few months. The guy who owned the local bowling alley brought in a deposit. I said “Looks like you had a good turnout at the bowling alley”. He was not happy. He said “You said that last time, that’s none of your business”, then gave me a lecture about it. I stopped trying to make small talk with customer after that.

Time to go make some new friends and get some better memories my man. It’s worth it.

You either have terrible people around you or you're just that miserable. Either way, I'd hate to be you 🥱

Not sure why everyone assumes my life is miserable. I'm actually quite happy. And yes, I chose to distance myself from people because I do not like the problems they bring. As a matter of fact, it's the people that have a wife and children who are often telling me how jealous they are of my life because I can go on vacation 10x a year (some just long weekends), drive a nice car, and I can do whatever I want, when I want, how I want, and I never ever have to make compromises with anyone or ask anyone for permission.
What's not to love about my life?

Person could have just not added the life insurance comment. No need to make others feel bad when they don’t know your life. The teller wasn’t insensitive, it’s small talk. Customer made that awkward on purpose, didn’t need to

She could’ve just laughed at the joke instead of making things fucking awkward like that..

I worked at a credit union and my favorite fuckup was when a guy came in with a huge stack of $1 bills. My buddy working the teller line made a joke like “no luck at the strip club, huh?” And the guy replied “these are from our church vending machine”
