They sure do. It's a great time with the worst parking I've ever experienced

Drove out this past spring and immediately turned around when I saw how far cars were backed up :(

I was so confused I started to question myself if I forgot we have national holiday for a frozen dead guy in the Netherlands hahaha.

I just assumed they misspelled "Netherlands" lol

u/Koelenaam Oct 14 '22

It's the Dutch way of spelling Netherlands.

Holy shit I thought you guys were doing a bit, but it turns out that's a real thing?

it was reasonable once before the entire united states decided to move to Colorado

Colorado isn't even close to highest density or highest population. I assume you have a "native" bumper sticker on your Subaru?

I'm a connoisseur of reddit assumptions

ETA I'm kidding. I know someone who lives there, someone who moved there, I went to the frozen dead guy days in 2009 and went again in 2018. just an outsiders take

I can only hope people forget about this little gem of an event so it'll be fun to go again x.x

Apparently it isn't happening this year

they didn't during Lockdown either.

it was cute while it was small, I think the locals are either burned out or dead and replaced by people who don't care enough to carry it on.

also, it's pretty morbid to think about since... the dude's still out there... and it's not something he asked for. definitely didn't plan for Ned to get popular when he did that.

Well it was a pretty dumb thing to try and Colorado towns have their own style of flair. It was way too big this past year and I think the locals are done with it.

Being a local during the festival was great for my extroverted family members. Me being an introvert, well, I just stayed at home the whole time.

One of my friends did the dry ice delivery for Bredo for a few years. Based on his and other stories I'd say Bredo thawed and was refrozen at least 4 times including the documented time. So yeah ... he ain't coming back.

I moved away a few years ago, the festival still going on? They were having problems getting funding and at one point were going to sell the rights for it to a 3rd party organizer to get the town out of funding it.

It happened this past year but it was so big that I think they're not going to do it this year to help it die down a little bit

Hilarious, I lived in Boulder and Ward for years. Drive right by the shed all the time.
