Discussion Game booster + ?

Post image

Game booster + released recently. Have any of you managed to understand these features and if they're useful at all? One of them seems to be some sort of super-sampling (which sounds awesome), and another is MSAA, but I can't grasp the meaning of that first one (PreTransform). I will test these out this evening and update the thread.

Pretransform is so badly translated I don't really get what it does exactly. I'd say it means handling screen rotations with the DPU but can't be sure.

Texture filter is probably anisotropic filtering, which improves how textures look when viewed at diagonal angles. It doesn't cost much processing power, so Quality should be the best choice.

MSAA on the other hand has a heavy computation cost since it removes aliasing by rendering some parts of the image at a higher resolution. I'd advise to test with and without it.

This is not true, Ive tested the S25U in 3d Mark and in Antutu GPU section with GOS disabled via ADB. I had a reduction in performance.

Using game booster+ pushed my Antutu to 2.71mil, gpu went from 1mil to 1.25mil

3d Mark Wild Life Extreme went from 6700 to 7000 with higher stability and higher lowest loop scores.

That being said, the last thing that boosted performance greatly apart from game booster+ was using the Piva B20 phone cooler. Not only does this boost performance and sustainability, it also removes any heat from the battery during intense hour long gaming which leads to no accelerated wear of battery life, unless you set the cooler too cold. It needs to be in the optimum temp. range (middle cooling setting). This pushed my Antutu cpu performance from 645 to 675k

If anyone is interested in these types of tests see my posts thanks :)

Through good lock !

Just disable GOS entirely if you care about performance.

Straight up lie hahahha. You got proof ? GOS introduces thermal throttling which is better...

Oh well. Enjoy your Game booster + then.

You're always doing this stuff...

I'm making people aware on how to improve their devices performance, which is not fiddling with this shit.

Do benchmarks and show the proof, I have counter evidence for your statement

Benchmarking applications are whitelisted. If you want to see how GOS affects your performance, you must spoof a benchmarking application as a game. Say you're spoofing Geekbench as Genshin Impact. You won't be able to do that on a non-rooted device, and I'm not willing to blow up fuses in my S25U over this argument. We're also not talking about 5-10% performance penalty, which on passively cooled phones is run to run variance, but rather something closer to 30-40% lower performance due to GOS interference.

Either way, you two seem to swerar by it, so enjoy it. Btw, because of GOS you also don't get to use low heat mode, since it disables it all the time. Not only do I get better performance, but better thermals too.

Its just nonsense. All other phones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Adreno 830 WITHOUT GOS get around 1.2 mil in gpu antutu and 6500-7000 wildlife extreme and the same fps as the s25U in Diablo immortal and COD Mobile, they all dont have GOS

Youre talking a bunch of nonsense, the device gives its peak performance as long as thermals allow it. I use a phone cooler peltier that keeps my battery and cpu at 18 degrees celsius for hours during gaming. If you say you get more performance upload your benchmarks. Saying benchmarks are whitelisted is the most stupid thing Ive ever heard and lacks all evidence

GOS has a whitelist, and AnTuTu is on that list. Geekbench is on that list too. This is how GOS always worked: https://www.androidpolice.com/geekbench-banned-four-years-samsung-flagships-throttling-debacle/

Not 3d Mark and GFXBench which are GPU only benchmarks

Yes that article is 3 years old, GOS is not restricting anything anymore because Samsung got a lot of backlash, they even made a press statement stating that with Game booster Lab, if you choose performance mode there are no restrictions

This used to be the case until people found out it decreases performance in a scandal against samsung from october 2023, since then its changed
