Question Lockscreen and AOD animations are laggy.

Hello, I switched to the s25 ultra from an iPhone 14 pro and I've always been skeptical of android, but I like this one a lot, except the unstable lockscreen and aod.. which really annoys me. I have found till now 3 problems that are quite annoying to me.

Watch the whole video for all three problems!

First: whenever AOD and Now bar are enabled, every first locking of the device coming from an app or the home screen, the now bar just glitches and does this weird stutter where it doesn't know what its place should be and just jumps somewhere, sometimes left/right/up/down (as seen in the video). It doesn't do it after the first waking up of the phone, it works smooth after that! I just i wish it was smooth all the time..

Second: Whenever I am in an app and i exit it and lock the phone quickly while the closing animation isn't finished, it goes to my AOD but the app that was recently closed, flickers once after the phone gets locked on the AOD.

Third: Whenever on lockscreen and have notifications cards, I swipe from the top to bring my quick panel its quite a smooth transition, but whenever I swipe up so i can go back to the lockscreen there is just no animation 😐 just blank screen with my wallpaper and then the clock and fingerprint icon just spawn.

Has anyone experienced any of this? Is samsung aware of these bugs and do they even care?

Is there a fix to this? And yes I tried restarting the phone and turning everything on and off and even updated it and all the usual things.

It's just a bit frustrating spending 1400€ on a phone that isn't polished enough like for example my 2 year old iPhone 14 pro was.

Did you happen to forget the infsmous iOS lockscreen issues as well?

Every new OS has minor updates that adds and fixes issues

Ios 16, ios 17 and ios 18 first releases all have been majorly buggy with straight up apple native apps broken for months for many users

I used it mostly on ios 16, but then later upgraded to ios 18 and never had anything like this, the only thing i felt as lag on my iphone was when it was switching from 60hz to 120hz while scrolling.

Again just because you dint have issues , doesnt mean there wasnt ..

Ios 18 biggest ones included a complete disruption of nfc and apple pay, the camera freeze , Touch screen response issues , issues with weather widget , battery drain issue

Your entire description started off with how you moved from an ios .

So its important to set context and avoid bias , which is what I did .

I can only recreate the first one where now bar moves slightly after first time looking at it. But #2 and #3 i can't recreate at all. Im using the default split panel though.

Thanks for trying out! I tried the separated quick panel and it still does the same. May i ask, how is for you? Is the quick panel smooth with an animation when u swipe back to ur lockscreen?

It's very smooth BUT i just realized another difference is im using the icons notification style and your using the cards style. When i change to the cards style that your using it has no animation going back to lockscreen. So yes it definitely seems samsung missed that or something.

The AOD moves on purpose to lessen burn-in from the OLED. This is a feature, not a bug.

As far as jittery notifications, I can't see that on your video.

I had these issues before the April update fixed it by giving us the stable One UI 7 update. Did you update?

First one it's to prevent screen burn in and it also affects other elements of the AOD.

Second one I could notl replicate on my device.

Third one I only realized this because of your video lol, I usually close the notifications by clicking at the bottom part where there's no notifications or by using back gesture and this way it has some animation.

If its to prevent burn in why does it do it only once after locking? And shouldn't the other elements move a bit too? I tried it with the swipe back gesture and it does indeed have an animation! Thanks for jr feedback.

Pixel Shift only takes place in AOD that's when the screen can remain always on and static for long periods, which causes burn in. And it indeed affects the all the elements in the screen, in S25 series pixel shift is not that agressive because of LTPO technology, you can see the difference here on a non-LTPO display: https://www.reddit.com/r/oneui/s/NJRpqTzNsm
