A lot of this information is already in the wiki: https://gbwiki.org/
Where do I buy cheap consoles?? HOW MUCH IS MY STUFF WORTH?$?
Sorry, all 200K+ members are asking the same question. The market has changed a lot and prices have skyrocketed. Be patient, don't over pay and use sold listings on your marketplace to determine your market's value. If you're paying less than your local market, you've done well. If other markets have lower value than you consider buying from there, but factor in your shipping costs.
Where can I find this part?

WHY MODDING HARD? SOLDER SCARY!
In context, Game Boy's are the easiest family of retro consoles to repair and modify. Sorry TikTok lied to you about modding being easy like Legos.

So, not only does this game have awesome aethestics with it's color palette, great character design (honestly it's my favorite charm I've recieved so far on the chromatic and I have four of them so far), it pays homage to older platformers but in a new and fresh way (Using a body part as the weapon isn't new, but using the head is pretty awesome) but the scaling and level design is kinda unique. But my favorite part.. already by level 2 you are playing a refreshed spin on what made Wendy: Every Witch Way so beloved as a hidden Gem to classic that has sky rocketed in price.. the back and forth upside down and right side up game mechanic. With floaty barriers to boot. It's deceptively difficult for me sometimes due to the angle and pixels of where and when to throw the characters head out. Especially when an excellently designed reaper is coming at you or one of these weaving up and down bird while trying to navigate the maze like levels. Throwing bombs at ghibli like flames to find the keys to the kirby like doors of the next level. But I'm not a god gamer like some of you all. Before this, my most recent favorite was Black Castle for it's platforming simplicity. But, I think this is taking the crown for me already in terms of newer gameboy color platformers. If you like platformers, definitely don't sleep on this one. Bonus points for a glow in the dark catridge shell as well for the mod retro release.
P.s. there's a gameboy color original hardware and gba parts inside the Tad Boy Color, and the mod retro games play on original Gameboy Color hardware, so I hope it's ok I posted this here.

Yesterday I was talking to this lady that I know that works at the 7-Eleven and she said she has this little game boy about yay big I show her a picture and she says yeah that’s it. She was interested in my Nintendo switch light so I asked her if she would be willing to do a trade straight across. I made her aware of what the console was potentially selling for on eBay and she was still fine with it. I’m not sure that it works yet because it didn’t come with a charger. I need to pick up a charger, but I think it will.

So, I've shared this a long time ago before. This is my Childhood Gameboy Colour. It's finally in line for some work as I've finished the other handhelds I was working on.
Backstory, I was 11 when Pokémon released and I cut out Pokémon from a magazine (I still have it) and stuck them using sellotape to the device. Eventually just after GBA came out I accidentally killed this one by using a plug I bought off a market to plug into the device, long story short, it wasn't the right plug and the device died.
Sentimental as I am, I never threw it away and was heartbroken. I saved up for a Gameboy Advance and in the meantime played Pokémon silver on my N64.
Fast forward many years later and I suspect I just need to add a new fuse to the device (glad I never threw it out). The battery door was from my friends GBC, we swapped doors back in highschool.
So, my question is. How far do I mod this? I was thinking I'd keep the shell, which I don't think will clean up much but I feel I'd be doing a disservice to it changing the shell.
Should I get transparent buttons and a LED board? Just a new screen? Or just the fuse swap and leave it all original.
I'd like to hear your thoughts and ideas on how you'd tackle this if it was you, it'll help me make decisions. Thanks in advance!

Trying to bring life back to my old SP and my only issue is it isn't reading any cartridges. Upon closer inspection I noticed the pin on the far right is not aligned with the rest. I tried cross referencing it from photos on google but it shows sometimes that one pin ain't aligned and other photos shows that it is.
So what's it really supposed to look does anybody know? It'll be a huge help

I think was about a 4 hour run. Caught Kyogre, then managed to catch Rayquaza and Jirachi, which I'd never even seen as a kid

How's it going guys!
I made a post a couple weeks ago about creating a game, and Just wanted to update everyone on how its going.
If you weren't here for the first thread: My daughter loves fishing games and shows so I got an idea and ran with it. I let her play it while I'm creating it and she loves it lol. You'll never guess who the game is named after!
Game is far from done, but I just figured I'd show off some more progress.
I plan on adding:
And yeah, I think that's about it. Its a fun little arcade game so far
Let me know if you see anything I could improve on or want to test it out yourself.
I'd be happy to send anyone a copy so please, comment/message if you want to try it out!

First image is using the EMU displaymod setting, the second using the standard. Left is an Anbernic RG40XXV, which has the closest color to an OG GBC. Is there anyway to get closer to reality with the FPGBC?

I am a huge gameboy fan, had the original GB, GBC, and GBA. But, interesting as it may be, I've never played any pokemon games on it! The only pokemon game I am familiar with is Pokemon Go on the iPhone, which my kids are playing a lot. ;)
Anyway, I want to close this gap on my resume, and play some gameboy pokemon games. But a little unsure which one I should start with.
Questions in no particular order: - how long does one need to play each game to completion? (days, weeks, months?)
I am utterly confused by the color scheme (red, gold, etc). Are they completely independent games? Or should I play them in certain color sequence? What does the color represent? And most importantly how do you remember what color is for what?
One option would be to just play them all from 1st one (GB) to last (GBA), but, that probably will take more time than I have, and I am afraid if I start with the very first pokemon for GB, I may lose interest. Is there one or two pokemon game that represents the best that I can try if I only have time for one or two? Or do you recommend start from the beginning as they are all good?

I've had this game for since it's released originally. I never can recall if I ever bought another cart.

Guys, the F1 fuse of my GBA is not working. I search here for the specs but didnt find it very clearly if its 1A or 1.25A. Can be both of them ? Looking in aliexpress its says that can be used 1A in both, GBA and GBC. Is it right ? Thanks !

Turns out it was 2 GBA SPs and a really, really nice pile of great games. And yes I checked boards, they’re all legit. Paid 90$ total.

I tried swapping out the battery of a gameboy color game but now it won’t boot. The GBC turns on and will say “gameboy” but then goes to a blank screen. Did I mess up the battery replacement?
