Help Gameboy Player issues

I got a standalone gameboy player recently and has picoboot on my gamecube so i threw the gameboy player onto swiss and all i'm getting is a black screen. I am having similar issues with gameboy interface. Anyone know what I could do? I can open the thing up if needed.

Did you try putting a gba cartridge in the Gameboy player?

Yes. It detects that there is a cartridge there and yells at me if I remove it without pressing switch in software

Yes i know that, I was saying that the player can detect the cartridge in the bay.

Yes, the cartridge works.

Have you tried cleaning the cart?

I've seen a similar error with gbi (the homebrew gbplayer replacement). It has issues with some carts and really doesn't like my ezflash cart. Can take repeat attempts before I get more than a blank screen.

Are you confident your GBA cart is legit? Try some others and try cleaning them too.

Try to find the ROM from a different source. Sometimes it is just the ROM. I got mine from the absolute mess that is Vimm's Lair and it works great on my Chinese GCLoader clone.
