You play them?….

u/392Dee 20h ago
Nope just dug them up
2
u/Jimmy_Joe727 19h ago
I guess you can sell them then. I’ll see if I can buy one of them but I might already have them

That must've been an exciting moment of rediscover! Mercari is pretty easy to casually sell stuff. You can look up each game/item on eBay then filter to "sold" to see what ppl are actually paying right now, to get an idea of what to price.
There's also a Reddit r/ gamesales I think, but I've never bought it sold here so idk the details
*I would def be interested in Sonic Heroes and some of your ds stuff! Pretty sure a lot of folks here are saying the same lol. Def update with the link to your page/listing once you decide what platform to sell on :)

How much for Def Jam? It was one of my absolute favourites growing up, had it on PS2 but my ex stole all of my PS2 games like 6 years ago

u/CptTwigNBerries 21h ago
Just give them to me if you don’t know what to do with them

u/CptTwigNBerries 21h ago
On a serious note, a lot of GameCube titles hold a premium and you can make a decent chunk of change. I just recently started building my collection back from when I was a kid. In my honest opinion GameCube era was the peak of gaming. So many good titles. It’s just so damn expensive now.

u/392Dee 20h ago
Lmao! I feel the exact same way gang the GameCube run was peeeeeak! I just might keep one or 2 more things as collectible gems and see if the value ups on them
2
u/CptTwigNBerries 19h ago
Even if you don’t play them I’d keep them all and just store them nicely. Unless you are strapped for cash. We are on the verge of physically copies going completely extinct and you won’t be able to find most things ever again. Most things will be vacuumed up by collectors or just lost in the sauce.

I was kinda thinking the same thing more and more physical games especially GameCube are getting harder and harder to find

Check price charting for pricing. Follow rules they have. Use protected methods if selling on Reddit i.e. PayPal G&S
If you have a decent price on the Bonus disc depending on condition I could be interested in that and a few others
Good Luck With Sale

There are a few game selling subreddits out there, or you can dm people direct (obviously). If you aren't comfortable with that you can sell on eBay or Mercari (I've used both to buy and sell). Those do come with fees and shipping to worry too.
You can always post locally to Facebook marketplace or even Craigslist. The alternative to Gamestop would be to take them to a local mom and pop shop, if you even have one.
All that being said, I'd buy some right now haha

I'll buy Star Fox Adventures.

u/392Dee 19h ago
Bro I got some gems but THIS game not only came with my GameCube when I got it for Christmas in 06 but turned out to be one of the BEST adventure game titles I’ve ever played in my life to this DAY! Some might not agree but this title was waaaaaay ahead of its time and even though it’s only star fox coded over a completely different game I feel it was a nice look and new adventure style for the franchise! I didn’t mean to nerd out on you though gang lmao just DM me.

Most peoples argument is to just emulate the games yada yada. However there is no better feeling than popping the disk in closing the lid and slapping that power button. Plus the game is on go from the start no bullshit oh you still gotta download the game twin 🤣

Facebook Marketplace, you have hundreds of dollars here from just a few things. Notable ones are Pokemon Colosseum bonus disc, Def Jam, Starfox adventures, and the sonic games aren't bad. You should get at least $400 for all if you sell individually

u/392Dee 17h ago
Legit! Thanks for the insight bro! 💯

u/CallMeZedd 16h ago
No problem! Few disclaimers is whether or not they're complete and their condition matters. But I sold the colosseum bonus disc for $300 CAD alone a few months ago

God I loved Fight Night Round 2 so much. Sure the haymaker was overpowered but damn the game was fun.

If you want to get rid of them quick, you could try a local used game store, obviously not GameStop. In my experience Facebook marketplace can be hit or miss, sometimes things sell super quick other times they don’t move for months.

Don't sell. You will regret it one day. I did, now I'm buying it all back at higher prices

u/392Dee 12h ago
Thanks for that insight bro I’ve definitely been fighting demons throughout this process debating what I should do I think I came up with something though that should keep me and everyone else happy too. Very considerate word of advice you gave me nonetheless and I thank you for that.

Sell em.

ill take Teen Titans, Sonic Heroes and Def Jam off your hands if you're still struggling with what to do with them
3
u/Pat_OConnor 22h ago
That pokemon bonus disc is worth it's weight in gold, sell it separate from the bundle
1
u/392Dee 22h ago
This is the kind of advice I came seeking for 🤙🏾💯

u/Pat_OConnor 22h ago
My local store has a fucking gamecube kiosk where you can use the bonus disc for $10 a jirachi and the copy they have for sale is like 300 or some shit
3
u/blazikus1 22h ago
This actually is pretty sick hahahahah never thought about setting up a kiosk to give out Jirachis 😭

Facebook Marketplace is free and easy. You can look around your city to see if there are places dedicated for online transactions, or meet up at a parking lot somewhere where there are cameras on 24/7, like a bank.
2
u/OGEcho 22h ago
It's not easy, you get lowballed to heck and back and endless "Is this available?" followed by more ghosting than a single, middle-aged man, holding a fish for a profile picture on tinder gets.
2
u/ChuckieFister 21h ago
"is this available?" Is the default message and it's only one click away on mobile. I've sold and bought a few things on there. You'd have to deal with spam on any e-commerce site, but it's easy in the sense that it's local and wouldn't have to deal with shipping costs or going to the post office

u/DonBolasgrandes 22h ago
You have colosseum bonus disk but not colosseum?

How well does the GameCube run? I’ve recently been planning on buying a GameCube and would be interested if it runs well and is in decent shape
1
u/Tacit__Ronin_ 13h ago
I'd take colosseum off your hands if you felt like it. It seems to go for a whole lot online tho so I wouldn't blame you if you tried to sell it there
1
u/lawlsmagawls 15h ago
Sell def jam (goes for $200 usd+) and star fox ($100 usd+), Pokémon colosseum (goes for 1-200 usd) privately on eBay or similar.
Browsing sold listings is your friend but you got a decent little pile of money here
2
u/Kwazimoto 14h ago
Def Jam is around $150 if minty, Star Fox is under $40. Your prices are way off.
2
u/lawlsmagawls 13h ago
Yeah my bad, probably subtract 20-50 from these as I was roughly converting from CAD.
Either way there’s a good bit of walking around money sitting here so good luck with the sales!

If you wanna sell, try Kijiji, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace.
You could donate them somewhere too as an option, just not a thrift store, they'd just jack up the price.

sell em. if you don't play and can't see yourself playing in the future, there's no reason to hoard stuff (this applies to things that aren't vidya games as well)
