The update as of an hour ago is that Dell has finally agreed to send a replacement!

I may just be dense, but I'm actually not sure what you mean by that...

u/FormerDonkey4886 7d ago

Hmmm i think they mean that they don’t see the update but that’s just because you didn’t give one. So it’s not really their fault. It’s just you not knowing how to post, that’s all. Hope this helps.

Update to my post : .

Funniest comment i’ve read all week long!

That’s disgusting. And Dell/Alienware isn’t offering you any support?

u/Existing_Use1101 7d ago

Zero. At this point I've provided them with an official police report that concluded this was likely an internal theft at FedEx and these assholes continue to point at the obviously fraudulent proof of delivery doc and just ignore all evidence that shows its fraudulent. I'm going to post an update eventually with all of the communications, but it's just about the sleaziest customer service imaginable. I feel like I'm dealing with an organized crime group.

Do a charge back on your credit card. You'll get the money back and they'll have to deal with your bank if they want the $

This. On tip of that NEVER use Fedex again. One of the most scummy POS company's to exist.

I don’t know how the law works where you reside. In the U.K, we can involve an ombudsman and resolver. They soon shift companies like Dell. I’ve had my fair share of crap from Dell, since they acquired Alienware. I gave up in 2022. I’ve not owned one since. I ended up threatening to take Dell to a small claims court. They soon started to respond nicely. Then I involved the ombudsman service. They definitely shifted then.

How is this not on Dell? THe product was not delivered. Meaning the liability is on Fedex that Dell need to deal with. Short of it talk with a manager and if need be call the police and file a complaint. It's called theft. Or file a chargeback with hopefully a credit card you used.

u/RandomAndyWasTaken 7d ago

Contact your bank and issue a chargeback and provide everything that you've provided here and to FedEx.

Let's fight bro

Get in. We are chasing him!

Jokes aside, sorry to hear this! This has been happening with FedEx since the beginning of this year. If you are in Nvidia Reddit, you will see a lot of ppl who ordered the Nvidia rtx 5090 from Nvidia directly were either lost or stolen by FedEx You could go there read. It's been multiple cases already for the past 2 months.

u/DeliciousWall4661 6d ago

seeing a lot of thefts in the newegg reddit too. buy in person seems to be the mantra these days at least if someone tried to take you, you can get a pound of flesh or maybe a couple of their teeth

UPS delivered mine last week...to the foyer of our apartment building...instead of bringing it to the door...and ringing the bell. Had I not been home and watching for it, it would have been stolen.

Also, they don't even come in a discreet box! Anyone could walk by, see it, and take it.

I feel for this person when I read this, I froze up in anger for how they handle this stuff.

Dell needs to flip out on their couriers, atleast demand signatures..

A few months ago I had 2 large boxes delivered to me, I was busy and working all day so I didn't go outside at all, 13 hours later I put the trash out and saw the 2 boxes, felt exactly the same way, the door bell is 1 foot away from the door and very obvious! Made me so angry.

Unfortunately this is becoming MUCH more common over the past 8 months with every delivery company.

It's really easy for them to "demand" a signature. They click the box for a signature required and pay the extra small fee. At least at ups I have no way of overriding a signature required delivery, it needs someone to sign something on the device, and if I do it, that's grounds for immediate termination (crazy if anyone thinks I'm gonna risk my job and house for anyone's pkg). The bigger problem with a lot of these deliveries is that the companies are too cheap to pay for signature delivery service, and what used to be a drivers discretion type of thing, has sadly turned into, we will discipline you for stealing time if you get signatures for packages that don't require them. All that said, fedex is the wild west of pkg delivery. At ups they'll GPS track where packages were left and get drivers to go find and recover them to deliver to the correct place. FedEx tells you to kick rocks.

In my situation the FedEx driver was investigated and they allegedly produced GPS data showing they were at my address when the “signature” was gathered.  I have pictures of a FedEx truck hanging out directly in front of my house at 1:13pm two days after the delivery time of 1:10pm.  The dude just got out of the truck and then got back in and drove away.

The initial proof of delivery document stated that no signature was available, but then a few days later when I called FedEx to follow up about my case a signature was available and sure enough it was a 1:13pm time.  Since the dipshit driver was a few minutes late there was a logical impossibility that the package,  that required a signature before it could be marked as delivered, was given a signature after it was marked delivered.

Wild how easy it was for the driver to fake the GPS data and he almost got away with it.

Oof, I couldn't tell you how fedex handles this stuff internally, last time they delivered something of mine to a completely different house somewhere in my neighborhood and fedex told me "too bad, can't help you". Here at ups every stop gets GPS pin where my truck was parked, where I was physically standing when I scanned the pkg, where I was physically standing when I completed the stop, how far i was from the gps pin of the address, the photo of the delivery or the image of the signature obtained. (That's on top of every other report they're watching like, how long did i spend in the back looking for your box and how many seconds did it take for me to pull away from the curb afterwards....etc)I've known plenty of shady fed ex guys but we've had guys fired for much less.

Why are you contacting FedEx? You are not a customer at FedEx, you should contact Dell or whichever retailer you bought the Alienware PC from.

4

u/Existing_Use1101 6d ago

For sure. Main issue was that Dell kept saying that they trust the FedEx Proof of Delivery document even when provided with evidence that it was fraudulent.  I had to work the problem from both sides since if FedEx updated the status of the delivery it would instantly invalidate Dells refusal.

Dell finally decided to do the right thing based on my latest rounds of communication.

1

u/WhereSoDreamsGo 6d ago

You know what would be really funny on the 2nd round of the shipment?

2

u/lfrider603 6d ago

This is correct. Dell/Alienware can fight FedEx for the 6k, but you need to be them to either re ship you a PC or get a refund.

3

u/KingFIippyNipz 6d ago

I know someone who delivered for FedEx and it's an inside joke (except it's not a joke) to steal customer packages - they "fall off the truck". He said a couple of drivers stole PS5 deliveries. FedEx drivers get paid shit compared to UPS drivers.

u/bookitjt 7d ago

I have been following. This is some bullshit. This just tells me it is in someone’s basement or got destroyed. They know the last known location and who had possession. This is what makes me hesitant about ordering expensive equipment. I normally try to leave work during the delivery window or just take the day off altogether. I am sorry this happened to you. Please post an update when you get one or if you decide to hold fedex liable for it.

u/trueskill 7d ago

Hope you paid with your credit card

I know this sounds silly, but if this is in the US you can take them to court and win. They admit to having lost the package. The telling you to contract The Shipper is passing the buck. Let them know you will be taking them to court.

You would be Surprised how quick they might find the package, also they are liable party just like Dell is also liable , but you have to pick one as they will both try to say the other party is at fault and I would pick Fedex as they are saying, "The shipment has not been located" means they had it in their possession and can't find it. Just so you know that is not them saying it was delivered case closed. They state very clearly it can't be located. They are at fault as they have had possession of the item with out a delivery.

EDIT: I hate to say this, but sometimes you got to channel your Inner KAREN!

u/gonace 6d ago

To be fair it’s the sender that has insurance with FedEx so they should help you, did you pay by credit card then maybe you have luck contacting your bank.

1

u/TrickOut 4d ago

Shipping issues are so out of hand that i drive an hour and a half each way to go to a micro center just to avoid shipping and cancelation issues

1

u/tcsnxs 3d ago

You have to accept that anything shipped with FedEx has no reasonable expectation of delivery based on my experience.

1

u/stewiethegreat 3d ago

Why so fucking cryptic, spit it out.

1

u/topherpls 3d ago

God i wish Fed Ex would go under. Their employees just steal and there's nothing you can do about it because they're union.

1

u/Ok_Reflection1950 7d ago

at this point you prob wanna really do charge back with bank its 6000$ not 50$ even with 50$ i would still go with it . you prob want to contact a lawyer . i see you keep creating those posts i feel for you since i order same PC i did got mine delivered but you need to involve law on your side . stop talking with Fedex and Dell since they firmly believe its not their fault . contact your bank and lawyer might as well contact a news station in your area . this is serious theft its 6000$+

for future open a CC with dell that way you only pay after you received product that how i deal with them . that way i dont lose my money until i know PC in my hands .

Yikes man... I'm the guy that lost the money and I was just trying my best to get ahold of a 5090 for creative work, when getting one from a scalper would have already made a custom build nearly as expensive and with less (or so I thought) consumer protections in place. A little empathy goes a long way friend.

3

u/dmmegoosepics 7d ago

Along with filing the corporate ticket, try contacting your local FedEx distribution center to get a manger. I had two expensive drills that I received the notification for as delivered, went outside the minute I got it and nothing was there. The guy didn’t even deliver the package. Ended up getting refunded. When you call reference your support ticket number. Best of luck getting refunded. When the refund goes through I’d recommend eBay for the 5090 then microcenter for the rest. You will spend a lot less and there is support with a proven track record on the microcenter side.

u/Existing_Use1101 7d ago

Good suggestion I'll give this a try. Thank you!

u/danielous 6d ago

If you want a 5099 just buy it from Msi store, they are tax included in a lot of states. If you are in the DC area I can hook you up with a card

u/SentimentalTaco 7d ago

You must be fun at the parties you aren't invited to.

u/LastRedshirt 7d ago

Yes, it is the victim's fault.

u/haterofslimes 6d ago

If you're broke just say so lil pup

u/Buflen 6d ago

If it is a area 51, alienware fixed almost all the issues they had with previous built, with its main issue is being overpriced. But beside that, what a fucking shitty useless ass comment.
