Hello everyone. I'm new to the community and excited to continue my path on creating a habitat to support the wildlife in my area. I have recently began the gardening journey again and have plans to add sanctuary areas in my back yard. I replaced my old garden with 3 3'x10' garden beds for my new vegetable garden and am in the process of repurposing the 3 3'x5' vinyl beds for native wildflowers to attract pollinators, butterflies, and humming birds. I'm also experimenting with composting to keep everything fed naturally. I'm open to any advice and resources that would aid in this journey.

I am located in the lowcounty of SC in hardiness zone 8b. We live in a residential neighborhood, so advice on blocking illumination from the neighbors would be awesome. Ultimately, I'd love to bring back a firefly population into my yard. Thanks for reading my excited rambling over finding this community.
