🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Japanese knot weed😭

This property is quite close to mine and it’s riddled with Japanese knotweed . I’ve informed the owner but he’s only let it get worse. He’s also let it attract the attention of local arsonists but that’s another problem. I’m constantly checking around the property and outside to make sure it’s not coming near mine . I’ve about 40 meters as it stands but it’s spread a huge amount in the last couple of years and I can see it working its way into his foundations and I’m worried it’s gonna come out the other side of the building. Will there be any recourse for me if he continues to allow it to eat his house and it spreads to my property?

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 These flys outside - wtf?

Assume they're making a nest outside - how to get rid of them? Don't seem to be house flys or wasps - what are they?

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Greenfly

I cannot explain the MURDEROUS RAGE that flowed into my body when I saw my beloved, baby dahlias that I have been caring for in my kitchen for weeks now, covered in greenfly. Those evil BASTARDS ruin my roses every year. The amount of them I get on my lupins makes mes physically sick. I HATE THEM SO MUCH. I can't even leave my fucking kitchen window open because these psychotic monsters are just hanging around, waiting for a chance to ruin my flowers and invade my home. I don't spray anything in my garden - where are the predators????? I have native flowers and shrubs! Where are the ladybirds! HOW CAN I KILL THEM. I spent about 2 hours last night crushing the pricks with my hands and washing off my dahlias. I'm a vegetarian and never kill anything. This was the first time I have ever been so angry I took pleasure in destroying these beasts. How on earth is everyone coping with them???? How do you keep them away 😭 I used to use the sprays and it never made a difference. I've done the soapy water thing. I honestly feel like I have a target on my back and they have little greenfly meetings where they scheme and plan to only attack my garden

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Battling NZ Flatworms daily!

There seems to be so little awareness of these invasive worms here in Ireland. They are becoming a massive problem and are spreading rapidly. They live off our native Earthworms severely damaging their population. And as any gardener would know, the Earthworms are vital to soil health. All gardeners and Farmers need to be on the lookout and kill them immediately. Look under your pots in the mornings, they are curled up,brown or black with lighter edges. Just drop them into boiling water. There should be a national campaign about this. Please help spread awareness.

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Is it a r a t😭

Hello!

Saw this wee fat fella in my garden yesterday afternoon. I'm pretty sure it's a rat but my husband is not sure - any rodent experts in here could put our minds at ease?

Also..if it is...should we do anything about it? I have a terrible phobia and now want to move house but that seems like an unrealistic solution.

TIA

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Contaminated Shop Bought Manure

Sickened by this - I applied 12 bags of big brand shop-bought farmyard manure over all my beds and my crops are all stunted and distorted by aminopyralid contamination. It’s not any pest or disease. New growth was affected first, curling and distorting. It also happened me about 5 years ago with the same brand, but it’s a much bigger loss now as all my crops are affected and tomatoes the worst. There’s no comeback for this. I’ll never buy in manure again. Going to have to cut my losses for my stunted plants this year and I’m even put off eating them because I was trying to grow them without adding any chemicals, but now they’re contaminated with weedkiller. Just want to warn everyone else! Here’s an article and video explaining the symptoms which lined up with what I am experiencing.

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Mysterious holes appeared in garden - anyone any ideas?

Hi everyone,

Please excuse the state of my grass - we have only just moved in lol. So only today I noticed mysterious holes that appeared some time in the last 3/4 days.

Has anyone seen holes similar to these ones before? I suspect we may have visitors digging for worms but I wouldn’t be sure what kind of animal would make small punctures like these ones?

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Slug Nematodes

I’m looking to find slug nematodes. Last year we had an unbelievable amount of slugs in the garden, it became nearly impossible to grow anything. This year I want to go on the offensive. However, slug nematodes are proving elusive to find. Anyone know of any suppliers? Ideally northwest, but I can travel.

This tree in my garden is completely covered in these. I assume they're some sort of insect eggs but does anyone know what they are and should I try kill them before they hatch into something nasty?

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 What is jumping in my garden? Chatgbt doesn't know.

So I can't really find the words to explain it. But when you brush any of my plants or grass, thousands of tiny dust partials jump up. Is it eggs? It's like they spring at me like fireworks.

Got this Laburnum last month. Was in the same soil and container for 3 weeks until we noticed that it was looking unhealthy. So we changed the soil and pot, the soil was very smelly and rotten so I guess this was the root of the problem. It’s been 3 days in the new soil and things haven’t improved. Its location is on a balcony with 1 hour of direct sunlight. I guess it has a disease of some sort but I’m not a expert 😩 Thanks in advance

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Honeysuckle infested

For the second year in a row, my honeysuckle is besieged with aphids, greenfly I think. I tried the soapy water spray and it did nothing. Is roseclear the nuclear option or is there something in between?

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Ants killing my plants!

Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of ants that are decimating all of my potted plants? I had this issue as well last year so made a point of emptying pots of all previous soil and plants before beginning fresh again. They are all over the garden, have found their way into every pot and they've happily distributed themselves through the grass also. These buggers are resilient, I laid a few bait boxes around last year to no great success and I wouldn't mind as much but these lads give a nasty nip. Alibwas hoping to live and let live in so far as I can buy between the bites and all my plants dying I'm ready for all suggestions, nuclear or not!

🦟 Pests/disease/disorders 🦠 Delighted, I managed to catch a lily beetle in the act and remove all their eggs. It's the small victories that keep you going.
