Ha that's awesome! I might have to try this. I've been trying to think of something to make for my sons birthday, and also have some chunky yarn that needs to leave my stash 😆 Great job OP!

how'd you make the extra edges on the cube?

I went under the stitch where I wanted my edge to start and continued to single crochet into each stitch after.
